I love this idea. I think more games need to have this type of feature. Having said that, however, I don't care for this implementation. For hardcore Halo 3 players (of which I am not) five minutes seems pretty chintzy.
The justification for the length limits and cost, according to the podcast, was that the rendering farm and storage is all on your end.
Just two examples that I know of off hand: Fight Night Round 4 and You're In the Movies. Both of those games handle the rendering on the 360 and then upload to the Internet. Fight Night posts the videos to EA Sports World permanently. YITM uploads to a Microsoft site where a WMV file is temporarily hosted for a day or so.
Anyway, I applaud the feature. As I said, more games need the ability to easily share videos on the Internet. Personally, I just don't like paying for something that I could do elsewhere for free. Just my thoughts.
