I'm trying to become an '04, but it's not working too well."

Here you go!

Player stops moving, as if the video were paused, at 12 seconds.
The radar, though, keeps refreshing for the remaining 5. Kind of weird!

that's intentional - the motion pauses where the clip author stoppped recording, but we give it a little bit of leadout to be safe. The amount varies.

I've got a clip I want to render from ODST. I uploaded the entire game into my fileshare & went to render it as I've done with other clips from ODST. I set the start time, duration of 1 minute at SD resolution. It's only about 30 seconds of gameplay that I want, but it's 3 hours into the game. It says it will cost me 19 render minutes. Is that because it's so far along in the game?

Yes. ODST doesn't allow clips, so our render farm has to literally fast-forward through your film. We charge based on machine time used, and we figure 10x fast-forward (which is actually a little generous; it's more like 2 or 5x). (180 minutes * .1) + 1 = 19

So is it actually possible to purchase render minutes with MS points? As of right now I am stuck with only 5 minutes as I am from Europe and therefore can't use the Amazon packs.

Sorry, we don't have a way for you to buy minutes with MS points, currently.

I just purchased Bungie Pro to render some Reach clips.

I get 5 minutes / month of render time, but when I go to render my first 20 second video, it says "The options you selected will cost 5 render minutes. Are you sure you want to render this film?"

Why does one 20 second clip use 5 minutes of render time?

Thanks for any help.

Uh oh! It's DMG with another weird/dumb question!
When this film first starts, a lot of audio from a previous death plays after the clip starts [Medals, and a respawn timer beep beep bloop]. When viewing this on my XBOX, it doesn't play these sounds at the beginning of the clip. I don't know why it would play it in the rendered video, but whatever!

It's no biggy, just a question of why, perhaps?

That's what I figured. Thanks for the response.

Exploitation of Mistakes

So I just recently renewed my Bungie Pro account but none of my games or b.net are responding to it? When I go to file share in game it still asks me to renew my account. I have the file downloaded already I was just wondering what's up and if this is normal. It's been a couple hours already.

Hmm, have you re-launched the game that you purchased it in? (If you bought it in ODST, Halo 3 won't recognize it until you've been back into ODST after the file finishes downloading)

You probably chose HD mode? "render minutes" is for standard def. HD uses 6x more of our machine time, so we charge 5x the rate.

Please see the section "I need help rendering a film clip", step "6. Render Minute Cost Chart" on the page http://www.bungie.net/Projects/BungiePro/default.aspx

I downloaded your clip in-game, and oddly, I heard the "close call" audio the first time I played it, but not the next couple times. Whatever the randomness is, it's in the game's film system and not in the custom video-render pipeline. I guess the timing is so close to the start of the clip that sometimes it'll play.

Hey Guys,

I rendered some films, and for some reason they are showing the timeline and the selected player on the screen. (See Videos Below)

I sent an e-mail to bnetbugs asking if it can be fixed/refund because they cost more than 10 minutes to render together.

Has this ever happened to anyone before? It's just a render of a Film, not a clip.

Also - does anyone know how long it takes to get a response from bnetbugs? I'm assuming they are swamped.

I recently rendered a clip and got it in HD so used my 5 credits. How long does it take to appear on the youtube channel? Or did I miss some option when rendering to send it to youtube?

Ok so Im not gonna do all that -blam!- above and hope you read. Do I have to do all that before someone will just look at real reviews of beta reach?

I had Bungie pro a few months ago, and I bought 50 render minutes.

I rendered a few films (8 or so) and then I decided to use the rest later. I lost internet a few months back, just got it back, and Bungie pro had expired.

So my question is, if I renewed Bungie pro, would I still have those minutes, or would they all be lost?

Since organized communities are usually more enjoyable, you should take your time to read the forum rules to save yourself some trouble and help keep the forums clean :-)

Well, I had an error code earlier, but I can't seem to get it to pop up again...

Even still, I just cannot watch any rendered videos. I'm able to fast-forward through clips, but when I click the play button, nothing happens. Would this be something related to the rendered film, or possibly Silverlight, or even something else? I'm not entirely sure what's been happening, but I can tell that things aren't working like they should.

If I can get the error code to come up again, I'll be sure to post it.

Your already-purchased minutes will be waiting for you again once you re-subscribe to Bungie Pro.

We create videos more frequently than YouTube allows us to upload videos, so for now not all videos will be YouTube-enabled. We'll talk with them and see if they can remove that throttle from our account.

I miss playing Halo with my friends.

I've rendered a whole game video from Halo: Reach and about 1 minute in the video the camera starts to follow another player from their first person view. Funny thing is I never did anything for the camera to switch players. I wasted like 9 minutes because of this.
Here is the video (Just watch the first 2 minutes and you will understand)

Also in some other Reach rendered videos my name and the time of the video is displayed throughout the whole rendered film. I've only had this bug happen with Reach, not Halo 3.
Here is an example
