Here's my story:
my Xbox live username has always been FabFubar from the beginning. I chose it because it sounded cool and those who know what 'fubar' means wouldn't be offended by it anyway.
now, i've never been told or warned by microsoft they find the name offensive. I've never had problems uploading my files to my fileshare in Halo 3, had no problem rendering them either. But when I tried to upload my first awesome clip to my fileshare, it said the "username of the creator of this content is offensive" and it wouldn't let me put it on my fileshare. Can't upload my sweet multiplayer map either.
and then i was like "lol, ok I guess", until i realised you can only render videos from your fileshare. So i can't put them on my computer either. This makes my bungie pro 100% worthless and I'm practically wasting money every second that goes by until this problem is fixed.
I'm glad microsoft lets you change your gamertag, and that's what I did, for the mere price of 800 microsoft points. (yes, that is sarcasm.)
With my new username I went back to my saved films. I changed the name slightly and re-saved them, the creator name was now Daitor. (I have always been the creator.)
but now it STILL doesn't let me upload my films or map! what the hell? I'm glad I can upload all films after my name change, but what about my sweet extermination?? It's amazing how much money i have wasted so far...
Does anyone feel my pain? I bet I'm the only guy with this problem, who calls himself FabFubar right? Does anyone know a solution to this?
The issue is that the original film you rendered has your original gamertag (FabFubar) embedded in it; so if you just re-save the file, it still has FabFubar embedded in the file as the author's gamertag. To get around this you would have to go back to the source game and record a new clip.
