My biggest problem with equipment in Halo 3 is that it slows the game down a lot. In Reach equipment should just give the user a small advantage.

For example instead of the regenerator being a great place to camp why not make quickly recharge all shields in its radius and disappear. You would have to run and hide around a corner use it and then you could jump right back into the fight with full shields.

Instead of being a big cheap bubble maybe the bubble shield should be more of a big curved wall. That way your not indistructible if you have a close quarters weapon but the shield still helps.

The power drainer should just be an EMP bomb. That explodes taking out all shields and vehicles in the radius. It would have a short fuse so players had a chance to get away from it.

The flare could be like a flashbang.

I don't know what Bungie will do but I just hope it is less of a tool for camping.

I would like equipment to return only if it comes back the way you suggested it. The regen would be way more effective if you factor in the fact that shields will probably recharge slower than in H2/3 (sine they charged slower in H1).

Active Camo and Overshield should also be available in equipment form. They would be less effective then now in terms of duration but they could be activated when needed rather than when picked up. Powerups should still exist though.

I don't really want equipment to return; it made the game to slow paced.

These are very good ideas for the equipment. Also bring back the Halo 3 Beta Trip Mine, which had more damage and the ability to stick under vehicles. Make the Radar Jammer actually cut off your radar AND send every other system in your armour crazy, such as making out you're being attacked when you're actually not for a short period of time. Of course don't have any effect on Energy Shields otherwise that would confuse the victim way too much.

The Bubble Shield idea already sort of exists with the Deployable Cover though. However, I do think the Bubble Shield should be like what it was when Bungie were first showing off the multiplayer, a ball like object which moved if you placed it on uneven surfaces such as hills. That way you wouldn't be able to camp so much, and even if you still could you would still have to find flat ground to put it on.

These ideas are great, I wouldn't want equipment to return any other way, to be honest.

I wouldn't mind a camo equipment which you can turn on/off, of course with less duration than normal, but with more flexibility.

So basically as long as you still had the Active Camo equipment, you could turn it on for a short period of time, then it would go off, then once it's recharged you could use it again?

I think he is saying the camo works for a set time and you can turn it on and off. Say it last 15 seconds, you turn it on for 4 seconds to kill someone you now have 11 seconds left.

Oh right I get it now. It's a great idea, and it would be good if someone used some of it, but didn't use it all before dying, and others could pick it up and use the remaining.

I actually agree. I feel that equipment is like a "get out of jail free" card; it breaks up the action, and gives people too much of an advantage in a firefight.

I would Have the "Lotus anti-tank mine" from the book series make an apperience, and more of the books other gadgets like the "C-10 or what ever" plasic foam explosive. maybe even Bio- foam just to replace health packs (if there will be any) or over shields (extra Health)

I actually think that the Trip Mine is the Lotus... just with a dumbed down name.

Im pretty sure the lotus anti-tank mine is the bomb in Assault. Not 100 percent sure, though
