how does that even make sense? a halo 3 expansion you would be the freaking chief. in an expansion gameplay is the same. they dont redo the controls and make a new way of playing in an EXPANSION[/quote]
Not true. Has the controls of the Halo FPS series changed that much? No. And were Halo: CE, Halo 2, and Halo 3 full games: Yes. So there is no need to redo the controls just to make a new game. Also, in GTA4 LTD, you played as a different person but it still was an EXPANSION PACK that did not cost as much money as the original game. In fact, it cost about 40 dollars LESS. It added a ton of new things. That's what an expansion pack is supposed to be: it adds new things to the game and not cost as much as the original. Halo 3: ODST is just adding a new campaign, Firefight, and 3 new maps. I don't see how that could be worth $60.
But I know that M$ could just raise the price and the Halo fanatics wouldn't say a word, because it's a Halo game. They would just smile, waive and say thank you for raising the price of the game.
in GTA IV are you making the radical jump from spartan to odst trooper? No youre still a human being nothing changes you just look different. and you basically just said that anything after halo:CE isnt worth $60 using the logic you are
Actually, you are wrong. I just countered your statement that if they make a new game for the series, that dosen't mean that they have to redo the controls. Yet you said that a new games requires a redo of the original controls. READ it close next time will ya? Jeez.
Also, I wouldn't consider the jump from a super human bad ass Spartan to an ODST to be radical. We have just been gimped down to a less powerful, but pretty cool ODST.
Which makes it a completely different experience. Expansions are just the same experience with new stuff to do. in this we get a new experience and a new campaign making it a new game in my opinion and not an expansion
Exactly what makes it an expansion. You said it yourself: "New stuff to do."
new stuff WITH a new experience. an expansion just gives more missions to the same game. but im pretty sure if i fire up my halo 3 and look for new campaign missions as the chief i wont find them. However in this new game i get to play as an odst and have a new awesome experience with a new kickass campaign
