Subject: What I Expect To See In Halo Reach

Two discs, one for campaign, one for multiplayer. So they have enough room for both to be equally awesome. I could wait till 2011 for this game as long as they make it right. No need to rush. Your fans will still be loyal if you make us wait another year.

The one thing I want....Is a true focus back on the story. They've fleshed out Multiplayer enough, I feel. I'm tired of reading magazines or articles years later to realize they cut whole missions or sections out of the game, especially when they sound awesome. IE: A level in Halo 2 where you encounter Gravemind Tentacles as you navigate an Forerunner structure. (After Regret and before the Arbiter level right after that)

THIS.

Halo 3's campaign was too short. Halo 2's was a nice length but there were several levels, such as Forerunner Tank, the Covenant ship level, Alpha Moon, and the entire last level of the game, that were cut from the final game because Bungie didn't have enough time to finish them.

Bungie needs to get back to the Halo 1 method of making a video game, where the development focus is on perfecting the campaign rather than the multiplayer. Campaign should always be the main focus of the game. Everything else comes later, including multiplayer and theater mode and Forge and all the rest of it. A story as pivotal to the Halo saga as the fall of Reach deserves a long, detailed, and challenging campaign or it's simply not worth purchasing.

End thread.

Agreed 100%. They need to focus fifty times more on the campaign than anything else in this game. I'm sick of looking forward to Halo games only to find billions (exaggeration) of cut levels later on after it's release. Personally, I don't really care about the multiplayer, it's not what made Halo 1 so great, so why is it so essential for today's Halo games?

@ Cleveland Well there's no guarantee they'll do that for Reach. Regardless I'd rather have a "Halo 1 +" single player than Halo 3 multiplayer.

Guy above me: completely agree. Single player all the way.

What do you guys expect to see for Co-Op? 10 player Co-Op? Depending on who/what your playing as.

That might be nice... Considering I personally think it's gonna be a more of a squad based game..

Yup, I still think large scale battles are going to be one of the new concepts that set it apart from the other Halo games.

One does not simply walk into Halo.

Definitely more players in Co-Op, after all there's more than 4 Spartans active, however some parts I don't see as being more than 4.

Well we don't even know for sure if we are going to be Spartans, though I think we will. I hope the gameplay isn't focused on Co-Op, but it should be an option.

The story and thus the action will probably be based on the novels, Hal: the Fall of Reach and First Strike. In these novels the Spartans are mainly fighting inside space stations, e.g. on the station orbiting Reach nd Unyielding Heirophant. Further more I expect Halo Reach to explain about the Forerunner crystal and Cotana's creator Doctor Halsey.
The Forerunner crystal seems to be important because it bends space and time, allowing faster slipspace journeys, which carry more ships. If you read Halo First Strike it describes these slipspace journeys as being full of blue mist, which made me think of the legendary ending to Halo 3. This can be backed up by the ending of First Strike which says that one of the Prophets had some fragments of that crystal that it would have taken to the Ark.
I haven't read the Halo Novels Ghosts of Onyx, the Cole protocol or Contact Harvest so there may be some more useful information there.

I'm not sure, but I remember hearing a rumor the game won't actually be based off the books event, just other stuff that happened at Reach.

Sorry, but bump, I wan't to hear everybody's opinions.
