I used to be one of those guys who would wait out all of the map packs on Halo 2, just to get them for free. Alas, Halo 3 changed that mid-stride. However, I understand whole-heartedly why and think that you guys do deserve some "phat cash" for your work.

Consider this... as a compromise for us cheapskate freeloader types, or the types whose wives have control of their bank account (such as myself) =(

When Halo: Reach does "fall" onto store shelves, offer us a deal or promotion to where if we can pony up more money up front... all of the DLC content for the game will be FREE. You know, like a Limited Edition or Special Edition perk. I loathe buying Microsoft Points and would really prefer just to pay cash up front for it, instead of tendering a foreign currency exchange rate. I know I'm not alone on this and let's face it, so do you.

Think about it, because you've probably been in our shoes before. (the torn and smelly ones)
Think about it, because we buy all sorts of other Halo related crap. (yeah, even the belt
buckle)
Think about it, because no other community loves you like we do.

p.s. Do it for the number 7!

But what if Bungie suddenly goes bankrupt and can't make the maps? Then Microsoft would face thousands of lawsuits from angry buyers.

...are you serious? They are hiring amidst an economic depression. This should tell you something.

Doc: "i'm a pacifist"
Caboose: "your a thing that babies suck on?"
Tucker: "no dude, that's a pedephile"
Church: "tucker, i think he means a pacifier"

That's not the point, not all DLC is made with a huge amount of forethough. This may not apply to all dev's out there, but for them to charge you upfront for "something" that "may" come out later is foolish for both the seller and the purchaser.

I understand your idea, but I don't think it's very practical.

how about you can get them from a code from the store and the code will give you the map pack so instead of buying 1600 ms points for $20 you can pay $8 or $9 for the map pack
this is for the people who dont have credit cards on their Xbox 360
