Before voting, read

yes, it makes it faster and the minor flaws don't matter. I wouldn't want to be shorter or anything different

no, it might take a while longer, but the story is more recordable. I also think that H3 is so different that it should be on a different engine for sure

now knowingthat it is already too late, this is just for fun. Whats your thoughts?

I say no.

The time for change has come.

Halo: CE Anniversary Achievement Idea
C-C-C-CANNON BREAKER!
Let Sgt. Johnson die on Halo.

They are using the same engine, and it was a good call for a few reasons.

1. They already know the engine quite well and were able to accomplish a lot in a less amount of time.

2. They brought out some new abilities and features in the engine that they skipped over the first time.

3. They can efficiently work and get things done faster with a familiar system. (Similar to reason 1, but I needed 3 reasons.)

Therefore, I believe it was a good call. For being a 2 year old engine, those graphics still look pretty damn hawt.

why wouldn't they use that engine? They want to keep the feel of a halo game and their not going to make a new engine for a little game like ODST. I wouldn't be surpised if Reach has a new one.

It uses Halo 3's engine because it was supposed to be an expansion of Halo 3.
Just deal with the same engine until H:R comes out.

I never said you have no opinion. I only stated that for the reason they are using it.

Its the same engine because they only had a short amount of time to create this expansion unlike there other projects which go on for 3 years - 4 years. Secondly it was a small side team working on this whilst i presume the majority of the staff where working on Halo: Reach which most possibly have an upgraded/new engine.

Its an Expansion well was planned to be and has grown under its own accord
The title still says HALO 3 . Same game same engine.

No programmer can pick up a TV remote without thinking what it would take to add a stun gun. [...] Their motto is 'if it ain't broke, it doesn't have enough features yet

If anything ODST uses the Halo3 engine with some improvments here and there,

like Halo engine 1.5

not a totally new engine

( I think )

Yes. Campaign and Firefight will be a lot better since they didn't spend time making a new engine.
