Subject: This game saved Bungie's severe loss of dedicated fans of the plot

The name's Ian, Game Designer at Whisper Game Studios, very off-and-on Bungie.net visitor and avid Bungie fan overall. Message me if you wish.

you said it in your post. players who care enough about the campaign are at a minimum, better to serve the masses then have the masses complain.

But then again, if you know of Bungie well enough, you see how they still post a few updates here and there about the older games they've made such as Marathon and Myth. They love the original fans as much as the multiplayer fans, they just wanna have both and they're doing a good job (now at least) managing and satisfying both groups. So no, they have no right, and nor does any other game company, to turn down one side of their fan base because the other is larger. That's saying "Oh, I've got a lemonade stand making about 25 dollars an hour and a brownie stand making 10 dollars an hour. Managing both is too hard, I think I'll just drop the brownie stand to make my work load easier, so what if I lose all that extra money, the lemonade stand is giving more than that brownie stand."

See the logic in that?

Very good post. I agree with every inch of it. Bungie destroyed Halo 3 with its multiplayer (which i do play but id rather have a great campaign)

Halo: CE Anniversary Achievement Idea
C-C-C-CANNON BREAKER!
Let Sgt. Johnson die on Halo.

You just earned at LEAST 7 cool points in my book for writing that. I agree 110% with you here.

I thought the Campaign was getting less looked at throughout the entire trilogy. For them to make a game all about Campaign has excited me to no end. Multiplayer is fun and all, but I got into this game for the story. Even to this day, I play on Multiplayer maps and look at the setting and details that were put into it.

"Ahh, Construct. So this must be on the Ark then! I wonder if the Cartographer is near this area."

I think ODST will easily be the best Halo game to date. It seems that endless hours were put into making it.
