My personal opinion is that Natal is a useful device in "some games" but not Halo which involves skills in shooting, driving and many other aspects. Post your opinions or vote if you think Natal should be in Halo:Reach.

Depends really, if Bungie gave REACH a fake gun with the game and Natal sensed that gun's trigger movement, then I guess, but the question is, how the the hell do you move about?

i never thought about the idea of a fake gun but yeah thats what im wondering too how the hell would you move around. I mean like wut if ur playing late at night and ur stomping on the ground to run how annoying wud that be lol?

Lol running on the spot.
But honestly i don't really think natal should be implemented because FPS games for 360 really fit better for the controller than pretending the real thing, alot of different factors depend as well.

It does have voice commands though, maybe they could incorporate that to movement, but the possobilties are endless, plus no one knows if Natal is going to be what is advertises, so fingers crossed, yeah?

Bungie should take a look at this forum if they're deciding to use Natal b/c I personally cant find 1 freakin way that it would make the franchise better wit some stupid Wii rip-off

  • 07.09.2009 5:17 AM PDT

-The Big Boss-

exactly and the controller feels more hardcore for players instead of body movement like wut if ur in a wheelchair?

  • 07.09.2009 5:20 AM PDT

yeah ive had my doughts about using natal the fake gun is a good idea for realoading. What if youve been playing for awhile , say the game just came out and you want the full experience you would get tired after a while. i personally jump allot that would be very tirering. teabaging will be changed forever

Voice commands for moving? That seems a bit complicated just for basic movement but as you said, the possibilities are endless.

Natal still seems a bit too new to put into action already so imo it needs to be tested by the masses first.

Reap What You Sow

One could easily adapt a motion detection camera to detect a "reloading motion" or possibly, further, taking cover motions. Another way that it could be implemented is to give your squad directions without vocal command, say, for sneak ops that require stealth rather than giving "muffled radio commands," as described in the novels or in modern day warfare.

I envision that if not in Reach, some other game will take advantage of this great opportunity and create a game so spectacularly amazing that it will usher in a new era of Virtual Reality that we lost for so many years after the great "VirtuaBoy" debacle...

Honestly, imagine, for a minute, if you could "hop on" to whoever's driving a scorpion and "mime" sitting down on the edge of the tank as it moves along, shooting Covenant or Flood as they came along...

Draw your knife and sidle along the edge of a "wall" and come up behind your foe and make a cutting motion with whichever hand you choose and watch on screen as your virtual opponent falls to the ground or their mouth is covered as you drive it into their chest...

Sure, something some wouldn't want to do, but what if you had that option? What if that was your "only" option?

Maybe I'm thinking about this a bit too much, but I still think "Virtual > Only controllers" if only to add different effects and versatility to a game that wasn't there before...

-The Big Boss-

my point is that Halo is too complex in my opinon for Natal to be successful and I dont think I would have more fun moving my limbs around. What if you have a condition in real life then what?

and how!

IF Natal is utilized it will most certainly NOT be mandatory.

We will have a normal control scheme and Natal is being looked into, not being used as the main control scheme.

If you don't believe me, how could we possibly experience a Beta of a game that only uses Natal if we don't have Natal? Don't try and say it could be implemented later either, Beta phases are used for extensive testing.

  • 07.09.2009 5:51 AM PDT

-The Big Boss-

good point but then again the Beta release isnt known and if im correct Natal's coming out in 2010

If that's the case, then we could easily solve the issue...Bungie lets fans come and test it at their place...OR they have a giant expo letting people play it for a test phase of their game and have the people sign Non-Disclosure Agreements or something. I'm sure people are quite willing to line up anywhere to test out new technology, especially in a game that many are fans of...
