Being that this game isn't solely about the Master Chief, those who hated on the fact that we got to play as the Arbiter in H2 can't get mad about this;

I think it would be cool if, in addition to the main Spartan(s) we play as, having a bonus, short, unlockable campaign were we play as an Elite foot soldier fighting against the humans would be fun.
Being the Arbiter in H2 was fun but we basically just fought Covenant (Heretics).

It would be fun to fight against Marines as an Elite and potentially even a Spartan soldier as the final bonus level.

Ideas?

Like this idea you know following and experiencing the covenant side of the battle.

This man, this man right here put it so eloquently that I actually cancelled my own 2000+ word long post.
/slow clap for respect

The person who said participating is important, not winning, obviously never won anything.

Yup and a level when your an elite would be taking the SUPER MAC gun generators, that meaning, you would have to fight Spartan that were defending them.

and how!

Since the beginning of Halo 2 when we started getting more into the Covenant I've wanted to fight the Humans alongside Covenant forces.

I would LOVE to see it. Even if it was just maybe 3 or 4 missions with a few large battles.

Gt = xKryeZ
Halo 3 1750 G
Halo 3: ODST 1000 G
Halo Reach 1400 G
Halo CEA
Halo 4

that would be great playing as the arbiter in H2 was fun killing the covenant heretics but the closest I got to fighting the humans is pissing off marines in h3 and get hunted down by them while im hiding in a dumpster but a covenant campaign killing spartans would be awesome!

Just like how you got to play Vader at the beginning of The Force Unleashed, I think it would be great just to have a mission or two where you play as an Elite and the final part of the mission is having a boss battle with a Spartan.

I'd say not with the game but as the first ever DLC cmpaign. That way Bungie could get the game finished and in high quality and still be able to make more Campaign. I always wondered why they never released any DLC Campaign; they could make loads of $$

As a DL campaign, definitly, I just hope the elite story long and good with plenty of cowardly grunts to assist you.

Totally. Crapload of grunts, a few jackals, and maybe as like a bonus you could use the D-pad to call in a pair of hunters if things get rough.

I do not appreciate B.Net Group solicitation. If you ignore this and send me an invitation anyway, I will block communications with you.

I have to say... fighting against a Spartan with super-advanced AI (if possible) would be incredibly fun.

It'd be a great and fresh take on the game.

Just a big ass Spartan starting off with a chain gun, then he whips out his assault rifle and for the finale of the boss fight he rocks the Splaser.

  • 07.09.2009 8:54 AM PDT

"Were it so easy...."

-Thel'Vadam aka. the Arbiter-

It was about time someone raised this idea up! I agree that fightning againts humans would be cool, because it's allways been covenant or flood.

Ooh, I love those people, the ones who decide to throw everything and the kitchen sink at you, as if an M16 does anything to a T-90. Oh, MLG player with noobtube instead? Congrats! You blew off one of my ablative plates!

Gun, meet Bad Guy.
Bad Guy, this is Gun.

idea=win
i would love to play as a elite instead of just the arbiter + press left on d-pad =elite says something funny like one word for you -speaks gibberish- also in halo 2 i loved messing with grunts

And it would also be cool if like you could order your squad of Grunts around with the D-pad in addition to calling a pair of Hunters for backup.

I concur, so wouldn't it be awesome to play a campaign as just a generic one? Maybe even a backstory to the first Halo.

Here are some ideas I'm throwing out there:

You could play as the Arbiter set during the first Halo game before he became the Arbiter, when he was just in his Gold armor. The story could follow how he failed to protect Halo, just as a few missions, like a bonus.

Maybe a campaign where you play as Half-Jaw, or maybe a campaign where you play as the Elite Heretic from Halo 2.

I'm just throwin' ideas out there.

So full of hate were our eyes that none of us could see
Our war would yield countless dead but never victory.
So let us cast our arms aside and like discard our wrath
Thou, in faith, will keep us safe, whilst we find the path

maybe one mission as a grunt or brute ;D

  • 07.18.2009 3:40 PM PDT

Haters are going to hate.
Praisers are going to praise.

The Bungie Forums are what keeps my mind sharp and my fingers active, between writing my own movie scripts, drawing, and studying industrial design. At the moment I'm working on miniatures for a short movie that I'll hopefully be able to film once I've saved up for a camera... That's me, with the mug, trying to have a conversation with Konoko.

That is actually a really good idea. One could even fight/play as Thel, leading an army of random Covenant species back in the days when he wore a golden armor. Although it might not work story wise(?). However, I do not like the thought of having Spartans as enemies, it sounds quite improbable. First of all, there are too few of them, and secondly, it would hurt their requtation of being bad ass. But having one as a last boss wouldnt hurt.

Yeah not fighting them throughout the entire campaign, just as the final boss. Like a really long hardcore boss battle where you just barely beat him. I can imagine a Spartan you're fighting getting his armor cut off and damaged just like Darth Vader did in The Force Unleashed.
