So before it was halo1,thehalo2,then halo 3. But all of the sudden they are killing the gameplay by making prequels to the game. They are killing the story, why cant bungie just make it simple by making sequels.
I know, prequels just take too much thinking to understand. The very concept of something coming before something else is baffling. Besides, who wants to think while they play a video game?! We all know the true gamers only care about mashing buttons and killing people in multiplayer. Heck, let's do away with story-driven campaigns all together and make games only about multiplayer! After all, reading, thinking, and discussing things like plot and character development was so 1990's. This is the 2000's, we want our games to be 'pro' and only be about 'skill', we don't need a plot!
Obviously (hopefully at least), you caught the sarcasm. If you can't fathom the fact that a prequel comes before an established story arc, then I feel for you. Prequels serve a valid purpose, they explain events than had an impact on and lead up to those you are already familiar with in the current series. While sometimes they can be simple money-makers, other times they can greatly add to the overall story experience of a game, movie, or book. Since neither Reach or ODST are released yet, nor do we know very much about plot specifics for either, it is both unfair and foolish to so easily and handily dismiss either.
