WTF, you are wrong on like all things there.
The way buildings were only able to be built in a certain place was good cause if u could of placed them everywhere it would have made the game a messy piece of crap.
and you cant say it doesnt count as a true rts game and last of all WTF are you on about the cutscenes they were the best out of all the games that came out from then until like a few months ago, all the folding of the shirts and stuff made them really realistic

I know what you mean.... I wish that they would have made a special squad that was incredibly defenseless but had the power to contract a base anywhere. If they had made a unit like that especially if it was costly to build and use, you could build a base anywhere; however it would be hard and slower to build and also costlier. This could prod have people into using the slots but also allow freedom.

How are they killing the games by making prequels exactly?

Also, I believe it has already been confirmed by Bungie that reach is a FPS. Halo Wars was an awesome game by the way.

Yes that would have been sorta cool. like a leader power that you select position and it launches a base down from like the spirit of fire ans sets up then starts building normaly. and it costs alot so it takes nearly whole game to get enough so only really useful for long games

Dude first of all Halo wars was created by ensemble ( we all SHOULD know that) and now that bungie has realised this could have a rich storyline (thanks to the books) they want to show you what happend not around MC but in the rest of the universe. This (to me) actually sounds pretty exciting, I've always wanted to play the REST of the story. If you don't like how bungie is building on such a diverse and growing universe then I suggest to just stick to the multiplayer aspect of the games or play something else like CoD.

Bungie already said Reach is going to be an FPS

- Bungie did not make Halo Wars, Ensemble did.
- Halo: Reach has been confirmed to be a FPS
- Prequels help expand the Halo universe, just like sequels do.
I would say that a prequel will give a better veiw of the Halo universe to most of the players. Much more than a sequel would.

I'm so iconoclastic; I'M CLASTIC! I only want you to think I'm fantastic.

:CCCCCCCCCCC

:O OMG another prequel!!! EVERYBODY RUUUUN IT'S THE END OF THE WORLD!!!! It's a game... a game that will probably own(like halo wars did and ODST wil!!!).

well, it makes the story confusing. Why wouldnt you want to add to the story. Why would you want want to add background information.

Confusing for some, perhaps.

Many people have read the novels, and would love to experience that era of the Halo universe first hand, whether it's from the Master Chief's perspective or otherwise.

Elaborating on the backstory could make all of the other games more compelling by giving them more context.

Prequels can be pretty effective and successful: Wolverine: Origins, Batman Begins/The Dark Knight, etc.

With the Prophets vanquished, and Gravemind silenced, where could the story really go from here? I'd rather see a prequel than Master Chief fighting zombie-vampire-monkeys from planet Urkox. Oh wait....

a prequel kills the story and gameplay? well... that's news to me.

I'd actually say it ENHANCES the backstory, and it can also UPGRADE the gameplay, why would they take a step backwards?

nobody knows if Mc is in reach. and even if he is not, so what? it's still a halo game.
lastly, HW was a great game.

obviously you havent been a halo fan for very long. halo started as a book, not a video game. if you actually read the book you will understand what the topic starter is talking about. its like having a star wars movie without having any jedi's.

to me it just looks like bungie is trying to get all gamers (not just first person shooter fans) to be into halo. i personally think thats kinda terrible. i dont play halo because of its amzing diversity in game play. i play it to team up with friends and "t-bag some newbs". haha.

halo just simply copied the game play idea from halo wars. stole a game idea, put some lame story line behind it and tried to "con" people into buying it by giving away halo 3 maps with it.

i dont understand why bungie thinks they must change the game play and make games different than halo1 2 and 3. its like they dont wanna keep making halo games with master cheif, instead they make lame games with boring game play.

why not just simply make halo 4? people will buy it

YOU CAN NOT SAY MASTER CHEIF IS DEAD!!!!!!!! bungie has killed him before and he always comes back to life. just bring him back again and make the game that the FANS want. no one cares about ODST. everyone wants master cheif

just say "oh we never found master cheif's body" or something like that. sounds kinda lame but it was more lame how he came back in halo 3

So before it was halo1,thehalo2,then halo 3. But all of the sudden they are killing the gameplay by making prequels to the game. They are killing the story, why cant bungie just make it simple by making sequels. Like seriously was there a need to make halo wars. Why can't bungie just make sequels like they did before. Now its all like before halo 3 but after halo 2(odst). Before Halo 1(Reach). And now i am hearing that the main character mastercheif isnt even going to be in reach. Seriously he wasnt in halo odst, halo wars and maybe reach. Please tell me your opinions.

you do know that Halo Wars is not made by Bungie right? i don't think you do
plus Halo wars has a good storyline and you don't like it because it's an RTS, it's really a good game

Halo Wars was a RTS made for halo fans who are new to RTSes. Also Esamble said that they wanted Rts players to play halo wars so they could get into it and play the other halos. Also they wanted Halo fans to play Halo wars so they could go on to RTSes.

Its like Star Wars, Bungie has all these great ideas, but can only make one game at a time and they are limited to what they can put in a game due to deadlines and resources. The reason for moving backwards is to tell the rest of the story by using the technology they developed over the years from making the first halo trilogy. Hence Halo 3: ODST and Halo: Reach.

IN MY NOOB OPINION halo wars was carp you know that. Im just saying that because I got pwnd online.
I SUCKED AT IT

fixed.
and metacritics says it's a goodgame. so stfu.

also, if you cant follow a story, then I advise you stick with the mp side of any video game. mass effect/star wars/lotr/halo are too complicated for you it seems.
i like it. YOU dont like it cause its not a fps. if you want a fps, keep playing halo 3 and odst, halo wars is a rts and ALWAYS WILL BE a rts. if you dont like it then why did you buy it? you saying that the only reason we like it was because it has the HALO name.but really, its because we like rts. You dont like it cause its not like halo 3. YOU want everything to stay the same, but thats not going to happen.
