IN MY NOOB OPINION halo wars was carp you know that. Im just saying that because I got pwnd online.
I SUCKED AT IT
fixed.
and metacritics says it's a goodgame. so stfu.
also, if you cant follow a story, then I advise you stick with the mp side of any video game. mass effect/star wars/lotr/halo are too complicated for you it seems. i like it. YOU dont like it cause its not a fps. if you want a fps, keep playing halo 3 and odst, halo wars is a rts and ALWAYS WILL BE a rts. if you dont like it then why did you buy it? you saying that the only reason we like it was because it has the HALO name.but really, its because we like rts. You dont like it cause its not like halo 3. YOU want everything to stay the same, but thats not going to happen.
Why are you and everyone who argues against critics of Halo Wars constantly putting these ill-conceived words in our mouths? I didn't like Halo Wars because it's story was entirely disjointed, unimportant, and the sole definition of retconning. In addition, it had a slew of canonical errors. One such error being the fact that Spartans should not have had any kind of shield or "powered protection" technology in their MJOLNIR suits during the events of Halo Wars, as they did not develop such technology until they adapted it from Jackal Shields in 2552 (some novels have typos stating 2542, but newer versions of the novel were corrected to reflect the correct year). Another huge error is the fact that Humanity had not discovered the existence of either the Flood or Forerunner (though this is a debatable issue), or several of the Covenant races shown in the game (Prophets, Hunters, Engineers). Another more subtle yet annoying inconsistency is the fact that the armor of the Arbiter is supposed to have been passed down from Arbiter to Arbiter, hence its outdated technology. The Spartans, however, roll the dead Arbiter's body off of the cliffside into a seemingly bottomless cavern, and then the place goes up in flames.
To most people, these details are silly little inconsistencies that do not impact their gameplay experience, but to some of us, it does. I play Halo not for the gameplay (though it is quite fun whether RTS or FPS as I love both genres), but for the story. When such an intricately detailed franchise like Halo gets put in the hands of a different dev team, there are bound to be some flaws due to their inexperience with the more subtle parts of the canon. It is something we all saw coming and something that made a lot of us not enjoy the game as much. It's not a bad game, but it isn't a good game either. The whole story is a standalone event that likely did not impact the rest of the universe in any single way, being that no one will have ever known that this happened.
And if Halo Wars ever asserts that it did affect the rest of the world, then it only confirms even more plot holes about why Humanity did not know about / plan for a large number of potential threats.
People on both sides of this need to respect opposing opinions. People don't love Halo Wars because its a Halo game and people don't hate Halo Wars because its an RTS. Stop throwing around assumptions like you're a freaking telepath.
