All my marks are in the eighties, but they could all be in the nineties if I actually tried. Hardly ever handed -blam!- in. There were times when we got a sheet showing us our marks, dividing them up into an average for assignments and another for tests. My assignments average would be like 45 and the tests would be like 90 (without studying . . . ever).

I earned a hundred dollars just getting a 90.2 average in school.

School is evil, except Phys ed and science. Don't talk about it, it's evil.

Well, I'm in the IB program, so I have a 4.5 GPA... next year I hope to get at least a 4.7.
I also have a job and do sports all year. On top of clubs.

But I will quit my job and take a week off from everything after November 9th.

I finished High School with a 3.7 cumulative. I almost always get A's and A-'s in every class but Math. I hate math, even though I'm actually ahead of my grade in it. I never want to try becuase it's really the only class that never interests me enough to want to remember it. In EVERY SINGLE one of my other classes I could find something interesting and pay attention and remember all the stuff. I'd never study for the tests and easily pull off A's...EXCEPT FOR IN MATH!!! I hate it. It needs to die. I love English, Science, and History, because they're my strong points and I find them fascinating (not so much in English...I just love to write things).

Oh, well. My goal this year is to pull off at least one 4.0. I'm quite capable of getting it, it's just I'm too lazy to try for it. I pull off at least a 3.7 every term without even trying.

Let's just say I pass... except in music.

Me: "OMFG, Dude... wtf!"
AbolitionofMan: "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to betray you."
Me: "That's the 4th time in this game alone!"
Chris: "Third, besides he had the flag I was trying to stop him, how was I supposed to know you were there."
Me: "I said, 'I got the Flag, don't shoot.'"
Chris: "Well those Wraith shots take a while to reach you."
Me: "You were right next to me, I had killed him and a minute passed before you decided to shoot."
Chris: "Hahahahaha, yeah... that was great."

You guys who hate school remember. College is way different. In HS they care about you going to class etc. In College, they could give a rat's ass. And let me tell you all by experience, you DO NOT WANT TO -blam!- UP IN COLLEGE!!!!!! Trust me... I had to learn the hard way. My first semester was horrid, I tried to make up in my second. Doing a lot better but it wasn't enough. So I had to take a year off and go to a Community College, and I also worked as well. Something else I would advise notdoing, working weekdays and going to school is very hard but possible. Currently my grades are 3.0-3.5 and I'm going back to my University this fall. So... just watch yourselves guys and while Grade Scholl and HS suck, College can be fun because of the people, the enviroment and also because YOU get to pick your classes.

I'm currently experiencing right about the same thing, except for the 'taking a year off'-part.
So I must say I agree with you.

Well good to hear you don't have to go through that. I was dropped and was told to improve my grades before I could come back. One year later, here I am re-admitted to the school. Hope things go well for you.

How does the school systems look like were you are from? Like which different schools there are and how many years in each? And which subjects are there?

In Sweden, school starts at the age of six, with one year mix between kindergarden and school ("sexårs" ~"six years"). Then it's three years (class 1 - 3)almost the same way (with insignificantly more to learn and a couple of minutes longer schooldays), called "lågstadiet" (~ the low stage). Then it's three more years where you actually start to learn things (class 4 -6). Then it's three years called "högstadiet" (~"high stage") with classes 7 - 9.

These ten years are elementary school. There are 17 subjects in elementary school, like chemistry, history, art, music etc.

After elementary school, it's three years called "gymnasium" (it's a greek word), where it's courses instead of subjects.

After gymnasiet, comes university, which I think is almost the same way everywhere

School is mandatory between the ages of 6 and 16

I'm 15 and am in eight grade in elementary school

The US has a Prussian system, built to seperate the "Smart" from the "Stupid", thereby condemning them to a certain class. Seems to be effective at maintaining the hierarchy of society while the rest of it starts to crumble. I stopped caring long ago about it, and don't plan on returning until I am a little older.

Do your kids a favor and home school them.

Similar to what I do in the classes that aren't particularly interesting to me...
