Subject: Reduced content Version of ODST?

One of the reasons why ODST is 60$ is that it includes about 15$ worth of maps. This is one reason why my friend won't buy ODST, because he has already purchased all of the maps, and feels that there is no need for him to buy it again. Well, I was thinking, what if there was a version without the maps(reduced to about 45$) for people who already bought the dlc. The saved content on your Hard Drive would be used instead. This could realistically lower the price for people who bought the content, while the other version could be sold to people who don't have said dlc.

OR there could 1600 MP refund for people with the maps.

Note: I'm not complaining or anything, this is just a suggestion.

Edit: Forgot, Legendary price drop.

No your an idiot. If it didn't come with a halo 3 multiplayer disc with the maps microsoft would have it named Halo: ODST and charge $60 anyways. Why don't you try to understand marketing and the emotion commonly referred to as greed before you post about this topic.

Actually, it would be $50 without the maps, which is a reasonable price for a 360 game.

No, but I'm most ceartainly not a dumb ass. People complain about the pricing when the fact is, every game released on the xbox will be $60 unless it is one of thos arcade games. But since you decided to call me out, what is your opinion on the topic, or did just choose to attack my person with insults for no reason. I gave a reason, you not so much.

I agree, every game is $60, but does every game charge you twice for something? Didn't think so.

Also, stop being such a douche. The guy just came with an idea, why do you have to insult him?

Um... did you read the OP? "This is not a complaint, just a suggestion." Duh.
I really could care less about ODST being 60$. It just seems a bit unfair for people who already invested in the maps.

No your missing what I said. Regardless of whether or not the maps were included it would have been $60 dollars anyways. Your not paying anything extra then if you were to not even have a multi player disc. It is essentialy the campaign disc your paying for.

As for my douche baggery, put up with it. As someone whom hates most other people to begin with anyways, I atleast decided to answer your question......... 3 times now.

What if i wanted to break?

Well you would have to consider what would the people without credit cards do to buy microsoft points and it would be great for someone who wants to start playing halo. I know they could go to the store and buy points but it's a great deal to some people and the halo reach beta invintation. Somethings you just have to deal with no matter how much you think something should be it will not change the reality of the situation.

*laughs* While I get the $60 version all of you get the $40 version then it is sold out... Then guess who took the other copies? Me. Lol

But yeah there should be another version, so I can get a ODST copy easier. :)

  • 07.09.2009 3:26 PM PDT

This will never happen because it cost way to much to manufacture and package two separate versions.

your friends not buying ODST because he doesn't want t buy the maps again?

am i the only one who's buying ODST specifically for the story, and not for some content that doesn't really matter to me?

Yeah I know. This is more of a "what if?" suggestion than one that would actually happen ;)

Another thread about the price? Just get a job and stop complaining.

Apparently your reading comprehension is not all there, I didn't say that it necessarily irritates me. It's just annoying.

*Head explodes*

See, this is what omen and I try to get across. Why not release the DLC maps in their own game cartridge like for Halo 2? It makes no sense....

  • 07.09.2009 4:14 PM PDT

The price is $60, it's not going to change. ODST is not an expansion, it is a whole new game and will be sold as such. Wasn't Halo 3 like $60 when it came out?

  • 07.09.2009 4:21 PM PDT

Challenge me to a Hawaiian Punch chugging contest. I dare you.

$.50 in store credit.

No. Honestly it has a brand new campaign and fire fight, and there will be a beta later. Why not buy it beccause you already have some bonus maps? The price is fine, and if you can't afford it get a job.

Tell your friend that.

  • 07.09.2009 4:22 PM PDT

Christ people, he was making a suggestion not saying that the price was unfair. I also realize that this is Microsoft and they will suck all the money out of our pockets possible if they can get away with it.
Now onto the OP. Yes, logically there should be four versions:
Halo 3: ODST LE Bundle: Comes with the ODST disk, the Halo 3 disk, and the LE controller.
Halo 3: ODST Bundle: Comes with ODST disk and Halo 3 disk.
Halo 3: ODST LE: Comes with the ODST disk and the LE controller.
Halo 3: ODST: Comes with the ODST disk.
Yes squealing idiots, I realize this is impossible. I'm just stating what would be the best possible scenario. That's my two cents.

  • 07.09.2009 4:34 PM PDT

2 discs?

Whats on the second one? I imagine the game and mulitplayer would be on the first one...

  • 07.09.2009 4:37 PM PDT

I hunt for the Prophet of Contentment, the San 'Shyumm that murdered my son, and stole his birthright, his Energy Sword. They call our species Heretics. They claim to all that our tongues sting, our words a vile poison that feeds on the unworthy. I have seen the true face of Heresy. The head of a gallant warrior lay on the ground. His neck scorched and blistered, scarred by his own blade. I shall retrieve the weapon, and drive it through that bastard's heart! Punishment for his sins is nigh.

1: ODST Campaign = Halo Campaign
2: ODST Theatre = Halo Theatre
3: ODST Firefight = Halo 3 Multiplayer
4: Halo Reach Beta = Halo 3 Forge

ZOMG!!! That is the SAME AMOUNT OF CONTENT as Halo 3, oh wait, there's more!

Oh yeah, it also has the complete Halo 3 multiplayer experience featuring:

5: Halo 3 Multiplayer
6: Halo 3 Forge
7: Halo 3 Theatre
8: All DLC Maps

Yeah, your friend is an idiot, you need to explain to him that Halo 3 ODST is worth more than Halo 3 WITHOUT all the DLC. The DLC is just a nice bonus.
