I assume that the ODST campaign will be optimized for HDD installs unlike halo 3 because the tech wasnt nailed down when Halo 3 was in development.

But my question is, since the 2nd disc is simply Halo 3 MP with all maps on a disc, will this version be modified to be install friendly or will there be some kind of disclaimer in the package warning the end user not to install the MP disc to HDD?

The AR is an awesome weapon, RESPECT IT AS SUCH!!!

installing games to the HDD makes nooooooo difference whatsoever when it comes to online multiplayer, so why bother making it downloadable? unless you only gonna use it for custom games with local guests....

No, Bungie stated that you will be able to install ODST but do not install the H3 multiplayer disk.

Edit: Like the guy above me stated, installing the MP disk won't make a difference due to lag and internet connection. Even in campaign installing the disk won't make a huge difference. Depending on the HD RPM, the optical drive can be just as fast as running off of HD. For example on my old iBook G4, due to the older HD but a very nice optical drive, movies will run faster on a disk. The only thing you are saving is sound and heat when you install games to the xbox.
