The Davester

I'm talking the Halo 3 MP. I'd love to see a faster mongoose put into the Halo 3 MP. If we could put a new hornet in why couldn't we do a new mongoose? I know a lot of people have asked for this and it truly would be a transport vehicle and not a moving double kill. As of now, the mongoose is slower than a warthog and less stable. So technically the warthog is better transport based on the those 2 stats alone, not to mention the turret on the back. Thoughts/Feedback?

Nutshell: Implement a faster mongoose when ODST comes out.

Also, more stable mongoose would be welcome.

Scorpianstrike-"Everything is possible the impossible just takes longer."

I think the mongoose serves its purpose well, but i dont know what you want to change so im not sure if it is a good idea or not. Also if this is Halo 3 MP then isnt it in the wrong thread?

They are already really fast so why make it faster?

MechanicalHorizn:
You must lay a sacrifice on the almighty altar of FRAG. It demands you get 4 kills with 1 laser shot.
Only then will the gods be appeased.

Me: Im going to hell...

The speed seems fine to me.

Magic is magical, so are shoes... Along with plastic.
Don't forget to flush the toilet, because -blam!- stinks.

I can't see it serving its purpose any better, if the speed is amped up it will be ridiculous to control on bumpy surfaces.

Hey guess what!? I play CoD more than Halo, but I'm not an annoying fanboy. I love CoD more, but I like how involved the Halo Community is...

I believe the mongoose does not need to be faster but they do need to add a flame thrower turret on the back with limited range and ammo so it can actually have some offensive and defenceive abilities... thats just my opinion though and yes I think this is in the wrong thread

:D

Yeah, the speed is fine but it should be more stable

  • 07.09.2009 9:08 PM PDT

Mabye the Mongoose should have some weapon capabilities like you can bring a turret on to the back so you could at least defend yourself but no mounted weapons on it that would look retarded

The search bar is like a DMR.

Anyone can use it effectively if they try.
Smart people do use it effectively.
Idiots don't, then complain about how it doesn't work.
The only problem is that, the DMR is used in Reach, but the search bar isn't used in the Reach forum.

You should able to throw grenades as the driver of a mongoose.

Spartan119 the Red Raven.
"So officer tell me how it feels to be at the wrong end of that barrel?"

the speed is quiet fine although i wouldnt dash this request right off the bat.

i would agree with the increased speed of the mongoose (like faster at top speed of warthog fast) if its stability was actualy decreased making it extremly hard to drive thus requiring skill to manuver it through those tight spaces.
bungie you know its entirely possible so why not halo reach will be out before we know it so please the fans you claim to SO love and give us a faster mongoose (only like 5 one thread right never gonna happen)

i don't care about the speed but i have been thinking that a machine gun (like the warthogs) on a mongoose will be better

mongooses speed is fine

To me, speed is only an issue on the mongoose when I'm racing friends in campaign and their hog can keep up. On the covenant for instance. Part of the mongooses charm is the fact that it does flip easily, it makes it funner. Funner isn't a word you say? Oh noes.

I want to be able to use one handed weapons (dual-wieldable ones) when I am driving. That or pull a Contact Harvest and weld smgs on the side.

  • 07.10.2009 11:02 AM PDT

Your blood will clean the blood for now.

Imo if you have seen the Modern Warfare 2 game play trailer you see Soap driving and shooting at the same time. I think that should apply to the game also. The mongoose is as others stated a U.L.A.T.V. so why put a 300 pound+ turret on it? I really doubt a spartan and at that a rookie can hold the chain gun with one hand and aim properly.

The speed should though, be turned up. The warthog goes faster/has better control/power slides/3 passengers/chain gun mounted etc. Doesn't make much sense unless you go really realistic and go into all the parts i.e. motor or fuel type.

I fail to see how this belongs in the ODST forum.
