I heard that when you get ODST, you also get something like Reach beta? What is this beta thing? is it a disc or a place or what?...

After a certain date [undisclosed to the public], if you go to the 'Extras' section within Halo 3: ODST's main menu, you will be able to access and play the the Beta version of Halo: Reach. The Beta is essentially a demo, yet not exactly... It's confusing.

Edit: Beta versions are essentially 'unpolished', 'rough' versions of games, basicly preproduction(?).

Edit2: This belongs in the Halo: Reach forum, as stated below.

Hush. If you’re quiet enough, you can hear it on lips of unborn babes.

It will be located in the extras menu of ODST and when the Reach beta goes live, you will be able select it and play the multiplayer of Reach. This is done to see how players react to the gameplay. Just the fact that they are putting out a beta for Reach most likely indicates some new features or totally new way of playing Halo.

oh death was never enemy of ours

*facepalm*

it appears you have been living under a rock for quite some time, the reach beta is a "prototype" version of the games multiplayer, not the full game, just a taste of it

p.s. wrong forum, i think
