Just wondering, im not banned but some people that I know are and are only going to buy the game if they are unbanned

What type of ban? Is it matchmaking ban? If so yes. It's the same multplayer therefore they will still be banned.

93% of statistics are lies. Formerly Xfire Grunt. Unfortunately, you can't change the WLID for your BNET account, so I had to create an alternate account. My other WLID was spam city (and it was my e-mail account too).

I don't like people who get matchmaking banned. They all deserved it. However ODST is using the Halo3 Campaign engine which isn't multi-player (Matchmaking). If they can play Campaign Co-Op online and Custom Games they probably can play ODST Firefight.

But hopefully they are banned from leaderboards or something (or there are no leaderboards). Bungie could give them justice, but unless they update the system (doubtful) I doubt they will be banned.

If they are banned from Xbox Live, well they have no chance.

ODST is going to use the same Halo3 online matchmaking you have grown to know and *love*. So if an unscrupulous player were banned in Halo3 matchmaking that ban would still be in effect.

Halo 3 ODST doesn't feature matchmaking. Think of ODST as the same as Campaign Co-Op (from what I've heard). This is why it doesn't feature matchmaking.

If your younger brother had decided to boost ten games of Grifball, I think you would be singing a very different tune.

I truly hate the contempt people on these forums seem to have towards people who have been banned. I mean, honestly, what is the harm in a couple of boosted games?

[NOTE: I HAVE NEVER BOOSTED, NOR HAVE I EVER RECEIVED ANY SORT OF BAN]

Anyway, people who are banned from Halo 3's Matchmaking service will be banned from Halo 3: ODST's Matchmaking service.

Halo 3: ODST does feature matchmaking on disc 2. I believe the OP is asking if his friends will still be banned from matchmaking on disc 2 if they are currently banned in Halo 3.

Seeing as disc 2 has the same multiplayer, they are still banned.

I highly doubt that they're going around banning people for Grifball.

Last time I checked, that is an exp ban not a matchmaking ban. You can only get a matchmaking ban for serious offenses.

Also the second disc is Halo 3, its not ODST. If he is talking about firefight I don't think he is banned.
