I have a lot of trouble with those goddamn Gold Sword Elites in Truth and Reconciliation. They just wont stop whacking me. Needler works but tends to blow me up as well and the Plasma Rifle isn't much help because it overheats too much.

BTW did you know that it takes a full clip from an AR (all 60 bullets, not missing a single shot) to take out an Gold Sword Elite's shield?

u got to options in that place well three if your a good shot

1. use a Plasma pisol to nock out its shields then take him down
2. do what i do and throw a plasma on his face then he takes those covie bastards with him
3. use your sniper rifle for a head shot(not recomended unless you like to go psyco like me

Many methods to take him out. Here's just a few:
* Charged Plasma Shot to take out his shields (knocks him still too), then any fire on him to finish him off.
* When you first see them, they usually do some sort of crazy shout (the gold sword Elites do). When he's doing that, tag him with a Plasma Grenade and make a run for it.
* Plasma Rifle is good because every shot stuns.
* Needler is quite good but use it from a distance (not too close for him to kill you, but not too far to be inaccurate and for the needles to blow) because if you get enough to explode him and his close, then you're done for.
* Human weapons (apart from a close Shotgun and some shots with a Sniper Rifle) are pretty much useless, try not to use them iwth Glod Elites. I try not to use them against Elites altogether.

For some reason, I never thought about using the Plasma pistol...STUPID! STUPID! STUPID!

On easy, if you run at him, he doesn't melee attack you, he just ducks and stuff. Or... he doesn't melee attack me, anyways.

Note: I'm talking about the golden elite with plasma rifle.

well, it's not really a tip, but...
on aotcr, the first gold elite you come by with a sword, i threw a frag at him, and the bastard jumped out of the way, like they usually do. however, the grenade launched him over the edge, and he fell to his doom. kinda funny, to watch it.

First of all, try and stick the bastard with a plasma grenade. If that doesn't work, follow up with plasma rifle shots and move in closer to him. If the rifle overheats too soon, stick him with a grenade, or pull out your sniper rifle. At close range you should be able to nail him no problem. If they come out of a door far away from you, throw a grenade to get them away from your Marines, and then shoot the Elite with three sniper rifle shots. He'll die on the third one.

If you are having trouble taging him with a grenade because he keeps jumping around, you can shoot him with an overcharged shot.

He will stay still for about three seconds after you get him, because he always does his warcry thing when you hit him with an overcharged shot.

I saw this in one of the videos at HBO.

You can also backpedal as he is charging you, and throw a grenade at your feet. If he's stupid he'll run right over the grenade.

Try to make him jump off the bridge in AotCR

The Elites only do the Kamikaze War Cry when they are about to die. Another one or two shots is all it takes to wipe him out after the KWC.

Go check if you don't delieve me.
