Somebody call the WHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMBBBBBBBBUUUUUUULLLLLLAAANNNNNNNCEEEEEEEE

Reach isn't going to "ruin" Halo, just read about how big of role it's going to play. It's not going to be the main control focus, the controller is. Natal will most likely be used in campaign, for minor moments. Or just used for navigating menus. Nobody really knows how it will be used, so stop assuming that it's going to ruin it.

Caboose knows his stuff.
I disagree that Natal will ruin it, Halo is naturally a button mashing game.
BUT if it uses Natal it will only be in small quantities, although, using it to have a super accurate sniper shot would be nice!

Folks, the bottom line is that Natal is simply Microsoft's way of competing with the Wii, which I think is retarded. I mean why the hell would people go out and by Natal which is probably going to be hundreds of dollars when they can just buy a Wii? I mean sure Natal is going to be better than the Wii with its full-body control but essentially the concept remains the same.

Also if you look there hasn't been one very successful FPS on the Wii which leads me to believe that there won't be a successful FPS using Natal either.

I want someone on here who is supporting this Natal-Reach B.S to tell me exact how you think that it's going to work. And don't give me answers like "It will make placing objects in Forge easier" or "It will be fun to see how when your hand moves the hand in game moves", because those are lame answers. Also I would like someone to explain how it would work in small living spaces because as a Wii owner I know that with interactive consoles one must play them in a relatively large space.

Im sure Bungie would never do this. They know that they would loose so many fans. I don't care if it gets you off of the couch. Get a wii if you want to do that. I sure wouldn't buy it if I had to use stupid Natal. No I am not lazy, I go to the gym every morning and work out for 4 hours.

Bottom line is Natal is going to be something for little kids, while Halo is going to be something for adults. See the problem?

Natal could work with Reach in small doses. A combination of joypad and natal, so for instance you control your player with the pad as per normal but to throw a grenade you actually fling your left arm forward. Or to melee you swing the pad up then down like you do with the gun.

Actually, it was Harold Ryan, the President of Bungie LLC. who discussed Natal compatibility with Reach.

If people were smart enough to do some research, they would have found the full interview with Ryan in which he himself declares that Natal would not be a huge influence on the mode of play within Reach because there is no viable way to translate all of the commands and functions of the traditional Halo experience (throwing grenades, firing your weapon, turning or looking around, etc.) into a Natal format.

It is very likely that if Natal is functional with Reach at all, that it will have motion-interactive user interfaces such as in the menus, or perhaps very small interactive portions of the game such as in "Terminals" if they include such an easter egg in Reach.

It won't change the way Halo is played, so stop panicking, and please, start using the search feature. I think this topic is starting to outnumber the Recon threads.

Someone posted that earlier. I think you should read it.

I should just copy and paste these replies in new threads, but here I go. These are simple solutions:
1) turning or looking- small movements by the player magnified into larger movements by the virtual player. Have yourself move say 30 degrees left and your virtual player will continue turning until you face forward again.
2) shooting- Hold it up and fire.
3) throwing grenades- chuck em'.
4) movement- have a hotspot on your floor that your camera targets, and when you move forward (in between the hotspot and your t.v.) your character moves forward while you stand still. To stop moving, just stand back on the spot.

On earlier threads KneeChee27 and I came to the conclusion that it is possible to fully implement Ntal into Reach, but whether it will be successful is a matter of opinion.

Perhaps a Natal Forge mode. For the hardcore Forgers.
