Halo's balance between weapons, vehicles, equipment, and gameplay. Like are some weapons overused? Do players have too much default health. Are equipment too effective, or uneffective? What are your ideas for improvement? Stuff like that. This is also a game ideas for Halo topic. Discuss forge, weapons, vehicles, etc.

I have a idea for a class system using character models. You choose your model the same way you choose spartan or elite in Halo 3. You change your stats between the given ranges for Speed, Sprint Speed, Meele Strength, Jump Height, and Health by adding weight to your character in the appearance customization option. Your weight then affects the previously listed traits, but only between the given ranges for each model. In customgames you can toggle on/off whether everyone will have the stats they gave their models. I don't realy care about sprinting it was just a option I threw in so if you don't like it I don't care. This is just a example so Bungie would fix any problems and balance the traits of each model.

Classification: Spartan
Starting Weapons: Assault Rife, Battle Rifle, 2 Frags
Max Carrying Capacity: 2 weapons, 2 grenades, 1 equipment
Min-Max Weight: 500-550 lbs
Min-Max Speed: 120-145%
Sprint Speed: 150-165%
Sprint TIme: 7 seconds
Sprint Recovery Time: 5 seconds
Shield Strength: 100 points
Shield Recovery Time: 5 seconds
Meele Damage: 35-40points
Meele speed: 2 meeles a second
Reload Time: 20 milisecond speed increase
Min-Max Jump Height: 4-10 feet
Health: 250-300 points+Shield Strength= Max Health: 400 points

Classification: Elite
Starting Weapons: Plasma Rifle, Carbine, 2 Plasmas
Max Carrying Capacity: 2 weapons, 2 grenades, 1 equipment
Min-Max Weight: 575-625 lbs
Min-Max Speed: 115-135%
Sprint Speed: 140-150%
Sprint Time: 10 seconds
Sprint Recovery TIme: 7 seconds
Shield Strength: 100 points
Shield Recovery Time: 7 seconds
Meele Damage: 55-65 points
Meele Speed: 1 meele a second
Reload Time: weapons' reload time
Min-Max Jump Height: 3-7 feet
Health:350-400 points+ Shield Strength= Max Health: 500 points

Human Weapons

When not dual wielding weapons have more recoil than in Halo 3. When weapons are dual wielded max spread is increased by 1 inch and bullet magnetism is reduced. Max spread is by how much each shot goes off course at max range. Lethality is based on Elites' health plus shield strength.

The BR for Halo 3 is the only real mid range weapon. Probably why it's so overused. I would like to see more variety.

What do you mean? Are you talking about the topic? I couldn't fit everything in that space.

The BR55 and M6D were overused and overpowered. Bungie needs to make a more balanced midrange weapon.

All weapons need more range.

Equipment absolutely sucked. Its sole purpose was to increase the effectiveness of camping. It needs to be reworked completely or removed. Equipment should just be a slight advantage. For example the power drainer should be more like an EMP grenade that kills all shields and vehicles in it radius, it would have a quick charge up time where it beeps before it explodes. The regenerator would become a quick shield recharge for anyone in its radius.

Dual wielding created a bunch of half weapons and crippled the weapon range in the game. Dual wielding needs to be reworked or removed. Dual wieldable weapons should work like a normal weapon. When you dual wield you would have two times the power but the accuracy and range would be cut drastically.

The only real useful equipment to me are the bubble shield, and power drain. I think Bungie should spend more some time on equipment. The trip mine should have about 8 yards blast radius and burrow about 2 feet under ground so it's not so visible. When you get about 12 yards from it you can hear a slight beaping which will increase in volume the closer you get. When you get 6 feet from the mine it will start beeping loudly there will be about 3 seconds before it explodes. For the deployable cover the generator should be behind the shield and take 4 full clips from a AR before it's destroyed. The shield itself would be able to take 2 rockets before it has to recharge. It would have about a 10 second recharge time. Just some suggestions.

The equipment was usefull it sucked because all it did was promote camping.

Your friendly and eccentric Sangheili forum-poster. :)

It's just equipment mainly for me, with a few weapon changes.

- Change the Bubble Shield so it acts like the one Bungie showed us in that ViDoc. The one that rolled down hills. This wouldn't be so much of a camping tool so much that way.
- Make the Flare actually act like a Flashbang. The thing affected you all the time, which didn't really seem like you was using it for an advantage. It should be changed so it's a grenade.
- Change the Radar Jammer so it doesn't affect you so much, make it into a grenade so you're actually using it to your adavantage, and not being the victim of your own weapon.
- Make the trip mine like it was in the Halo 3 Beta, more power, and the ability to stick it under vehicles. Also if possible make it so it can stick to walls.
- Make the Regenerator have a shorter radius and a shorter time, so it's not an alternative Bubble Shield.
- Make the Power Drain into an EMP Grenade. There's no point in making it into equipment, when it could do so well as a grenade.
- Remove the spread on the Battle Rifle and Carbine, but decrease the range.
- Remove the dual wielding ability for the Plasma Rifle, but make it stronger like it was in Halo 1.

Overshields and active camo should be made into equipment.

Weapon balance is fine after considerable thought on my part.

The Vehicle vs. Infantry and the Vehicles vs. Infantry with anti-vehicle weapons balance needs some work however.

In neither situation can either party really exist peacefully. Look what the laser does to vehicular combat? This is what I hope they fix the most in Reach, make it harder to kill vehicles yet at the same time not punishing infantry because they can't kill overpowered vehicles.

Yeah I think anti vehicle weapons are too overpowered.
