Subject: Past Halo Music u want to hear in Halo Reach

I cannot tell you enough how much I miss the rock music from Halo 2, "Follow" especially. I feel that without this music, Halo is not the same. Playing through Halo 3 without the rock music left me feeling like I wanted more. Dont get me wrong, I LOVE all the music in Halo, but it just leaves me a bit sad when I don't get that "rock" feeling from Halo 3.

We should know better, because we are better.

I would like the song from Halo 2 where you first get into the banshee on the first arbiter level.

"If buttered toast lands buttered side down, and cats always land on their feet, then what happens when you attach buttered toast to the back of a cat?

While the past Halo soundtracks are excellent, I would love to hear something new. The reason they kept generally the same songs for the first trilogy is because it all revolved around the Chief and gameplay was somewhat different but still had the run and gun, I'm the hero feel. ODST is getting a new soundtrack with much darker music to it, because the game is going to be a darker game. However they decide to make Reach, which should be extremely gloomy and dark, the music should be written to suit that style.

Agreed, however, I still feel like they abandoned the "rock" feel from Halo 2. In reality, I'm sure that Bungie will pick the correct music for the game...but I can still hope for at least one rock song/moment in the game.

It all goes with the gameplay. Everything in Halo CE looked so old and ancient, it was somewhat dark once you got around to the 6th level, so Marty decided on a more traditional style, with the schola, and not many if any electric instruments. Halo 2 had that rock feel to it, even what the Marine said, "Kicking ass in outer space, wish you were here!" kinda goes with that, so a more rock style went. Halo 3 had that "Return of the Jedi" feel, Chief is coming to finish the fight, so Marty came up with the fanfare with tons of trumpets to give it a triumphant tone.

IMO, if there is a part in the game where the time is real desperate, people are dieing left and right, and all of a sudden this upbeat rock melody comes on, it's gonna feel pretty weird.

I speak the truth, and truth speaks itself.
The lies disguise what you despise.
Run. Flee and be, what you've always dreamed.
What happens now won't matter later.
What you see will not be, nor what you imagine will not happen.
The end is close, so take your dose.

Definately put in "Blow Me Away" by Breaking Benjamin. It was in the halo 2 soundtrack and it kicks ***.

Peril from Halo 2 or The Greatest Journey/One Final Effort both from Halo 3, not for the ending, but more for the middle of the game.

I liked Halo 3's soundtrack, but for some reason I couldn't hear it properly on my SD TV. I think they optimized it for Dolby Digital Surround Sound only, or the sounds in Halo 3 are just so compressed on that small DVD the quality stinks. I swear the weapons sounded better on the beta.

The full songs are on youtube, you can listen to the there. To someone with musical background you can really tell Halo 3's soundtrack is dark, at least some of the songs are.

Drumrun. That song rocked. Basically anything from the first Halo soundtrack is good for me.
