Suck it Red!

Who knows, there might not even be Elites in Reach? Or at least not playable ones.

A lack of playable Elite's in Reach would be a step backwards, and not something that Bungie tends to do. They introduced Elites as a playable character in Halo 2 and enhanced them with armor permutations in Halo 3. Therefore, it would make absolutely no sense to remove them from the gameplay experience in Reach. Especially with Elites being present for that battle. I agree that they should be present in the Beta, so that any issues can be ironed out before release.

I hunt for the Prophet of Contentment, the San 'Shyumm that murdered my son, and stole his birthright, his Energy Sword. They call our species Heretics. They claim to all that our tongues sting, our words a vile poison that feeds on the unworthy. I have seen the true face of Heresy. The head of a gallant warrior lay on the ground. His neck scorched and blistered, scarred by his own blade. I shall retrieve the weapon, and drive it through that bastard's heart! Punishment for his sins is nigh.

Think of it this way: Bungie won't sacrifice sales. You know all those guys who would NEVER EVER buy the game if the Spartan player model were removed? There are also quite a few who would react the same way if the Elite player model were removed. Leaving them in adds choice, and makes the largest population of players happy.

But either way, yeah, they should be included in the Beta, to iron hitboxes out.

He means when Bungie said "Halo Reach is a whole new multiplayer experience." It will be different, yes, but at the same time they already confirmed it is still an FPS.

What makes you so sure that the multiplayer will be the same?

I'm assuming it's not going to be drastically different from how Halo plays now. I doubt Bungie will mess too much with a popular formula. Plus, the halo 3 beta was basically the same multiplayer most fans have loved since the game came out, with fancy new graphics and equpiment. Likely the Reach beta will be the same: new graphics and a new gameplay feature/mechanic.

agreed. bungie even acknowledged that elites are player favorite aliens.
removing them would just be a step backwards.
