This apple is brown, and rotten. This orange on the other hand, is in relatively average shape. So the orange is definitely the preferable option. ----------You can't compare apples and oranges. You're so dumb.

Plus, isn't it possible this world could only be a shield planet? Since the ark was fired prematurly maybe it activated the sheild world?
Listen to this person. Im pretty sure what he is saying, is closer to reality then what people think.
The planet chief crash lands on can be seen throughout Halo 3 numberous times. The first time I noticed it, was when I was playing the last mission, on Halo 3. I noticed something in the skybox, in the center of the Ark. It was round like a planet.
I had no clue what it was, I was intrigued but I sort of just let it go. When I played through legendary a month later, it didn't click that the planet in the legendary ending could be the same as the mysterious planet in the skybox. About a year ago, while playing through Halo 3 again I noticed the planet can be seen in the mission the Ark. When Guilty Spark is viewing the map. In this scene, Guilty Spark notes that Truth is hidng behind a shield wall that covers the center of the Ark.
Saying, "Unfortunete the meddler has trigged a barrier. A defensive perimeter around the Arks core (Banshees fly by). The Barrier will be difficult to disable. How odd that my makers would place such a comprehensive defence around a single"
Guilty Spark then focuses his attention at the center of the Ark on the map. Where the planet like object is. Then floats backwards half a foot as if taken back. Then procceeds with, "Oh my". Masterchief asks, "What is it?" , but before he can get an anwser they are interrupted by a Phantom. "Phantom" cries the Arbiter. Guilty Spark is shown staring at the center of the Ark, As if hes unaware of Masterchiefs question, and the presence of the Phantom. Masterchief calls to him, "Spark move". Immediately Guilty snaps into attention, notes the Phantom and flys towards Masterchief. Saying, "We must get pass that barrier or the Meddler will destroy it all" with a new found conviction.
The third time I noticed it, was litterally a couple of days ago. I was playing through Halo 3, with a friend who hasn't had XBL since Halo 2. By the time we got to the mission "The Ark", it was getting kind of late. So we were kind of messing around. Anyways, we were at the section with the Scarab. We moved to the edge of that playspace, where we can see a large waterfall outside of the map. Looking at the skybox, off to the right, I noticed the planet. And more than any other sighting, this time it was abundantly clear this was the legendary ending planet.
It all makes sense. Why the Forerunners never used Onyx. Why it was so important for the Ark to be outside the galaxy. Why Guilty Spark became so protective of the Ark, seemingly out of the blue. More relevant, why such a comprehensive defence was placed at the Arks core.
It seems the prophets might of known more than we thought they did. They said the Great Journey would lead them to the Forerunners final resting place. Well it seems they were right. I think its a beautiful irony. The Covenant fought for nine ages, to activate the Halos, to go on the great journey, and to join the Forerunners. But in the end, it was their greatest foe who would reap the rewards of the harvest they prepared for.
