Subject: Okay, Just Pre-ordered Halo 3: ODST... 35 QUID WHAT THE Fff-!

You don't kick a man when they're down, so don't teabag me when I'm dead!

This better be amazing. I pre-erdered it because I'd get it regardless, but I will warn you all if this is bad.

If Bungie have stopped trying with this awesome series and started getting greedy, this will be where we notice it. Because £35 for an expansion to a game is a rip-off.

So the purpose of this thread is: convince me to keep the pre-order and to not cancel it. Yes, I get johnson and the reach beta. You just have to convince me that it's worth it, Bungie community.

It's a shame it is against the rules to call you out on your rank, seeing as how the level you play at greatly affects the opinions you hold (on gameplay). Generally, if you are bad - Your opinions are wrong, and your argument is invalid.

GG

Its Halo man.. you can't cancel Halo..

Check Out my FileShare.
I was once on Bungie Faves. (Feb.7-15)
I'd like to know why I can't see the signatures of others of myself on the forum. I have made favs once, 7777 campaign kills, and I helped bring modders down when they were at their strongest

You preordered it, so somewhere along the line you convinced yourself.

The fight has been complete.... now get the cookies!

While we certainly share your enthusiasm for the return, we here at the Bungie.net community are mostly made up of snarky asses and jerks who will ridicule you for making a thread about something revealed months ago. We regret that your innocent intentions will almost certainly be replied with anger and sarcasm, and politely invite you to don your Flame-suit, because you just did the internet equivalent of jumping up the Construct lifts.

As soon as you cancel it an ODST will run into the store and shoot you in the head with a silenced pistol.

The fact that it is completely un-related to the third campaign, and that it ties in with Halo 2 while having Halo 3 Graphics makes it less of an 'expansion' and people only call it that because that's what they believe. Bungie has said that it is a new game, they call it Halo 3: ODST (with Halo 3 in the name) because it includes a Multiplayer disk with all of the multiplayer maps, and all of the map packs including the new one, adding on to the price. You don't even need Halo 3 in the first place to use the disk so I would say it's definitely worth 35 euros, or 60 USD. It would probably be a step too far to have a special edition though. It was enough with the Sergeant Johnson Pre-order bonus.

Fair point, but "35 quid" = £35. Us Britons are still using Pound Sterling.

*Removes Fanboy Hat*

60 US Dollars For a massive single player campain, and brand new Online mode, a new internet skin, A heavily coveted set of armor, as well a three new Halo 3 Maps seems just about right, mabye a smidget bit more expensive than nessacary, due to its marketing as an expansian pack.

Oh! and the beta for a new realativly unknown game from a popular developer

Why does everyone on this website flame me? If you don't care whether I buy it or not, DON'T POST. This thread isn't for you.

  • 07.11.2009 2:45 PM PDT

Why do we have to convince you?

When was it our responsibility to convince people of what they should and shouldn't buy? If you're going to complain about the price, then you either don't know and/or appreciate the content, or you have just judged the game based upon the word "expansion." Since you pre-ordered the game, you either enjoy Halo and are looking forward to this, or you are simply being affected by group mentality, but have decided that you don't want to spend the money. If you don't want to pay for the content, that's fine with me. But seriously, please don't complain about price and content.

Personally I pre-ordered, and I believe the game is worth $60.

Does anyone even look at these?

£35 is damn well cheap. An awesome title like this deserves about £45.

  • 07.11.2009 2:46 PM PDT

Welcome to Thunderdome!!!!!!!

Try doing that with an ODST pointing a Halo 2 pistol at your head.

It, in all honesty isn't just an expansion anymore. when first envisioning it, Bungie wanted it to be an expansion, but they kept making it bigger and better, so Microsoft decided that it should instead be $60. So this, I think, is where Bungie put in Firefight mode and the Reach Beta. I'd get it for $60 anyway because it looks like a fun game. A halo where you aren't the seemingly invincible MC is something that I've wanted for a long time.

It's got the campaign, which has the full open world free-roaming city, 6-8 single player missions akin to what you're used to in Halo, where you play as different ODSTs. It has Firefight mode with I think 9 maps and you can choose to play in night or daytime (not confirmed for all maps). It comes with Halo 3's multiplayer, every map released on Xbox Live, plus three new ones. And finally, it comes with guaranteed access to the Halo: Reach Beta. And since you preordered, you get Sgt. Johnson as a playable character in Firefight.

Tell me, what the hell else could you want?
