Fight to Live, Live to Fight.

Because from what was shown at some presentations, it didn't look THAT big. I'd say about... Bohan in GTA4.

you are a good translator
Idiot can be a hard language to learn, but once you get it down, everything becomes so clear! The whole world will make sense to you.

I want to say twice as big as Point Lookout, or 1/2 of the Capitol Wasteland.

How come I never get the sniper rifle?!

RAWR!

it was pretty big, we will just wait and see.

Whatever it is the game will be AMAZING.

Why does Bungie put us through such avid anticipation?

I noticed they listed different districts, I wonder what's up with that.

To be completely honest I actually hope it isn't very large. I can't say how large it is even after seeing the videos, but heres hoping its small enough it won't be to overwhelming.

But that's just my opinion. I enjoy smaller settings to learn them quicker. I've played like 200 hours on GTA IV, and if you took away my radar and waypoints I still wouldn't know where the -blam!- i was. For instance, my favorite gta is vice city, largely in part to how manageable its size was.

It'll definitely be bigger than Point Lookout... it's actually smaller than it looks.

M.A.W

its not big

No one can be quite sure, BUT in a gameplay demo video, the distance between the rookie and the ONI building was around 886m. That distance was not across the entire city either. The distance from one end of the skybubble to the other is around 350m.

Overall, I'd expect at the very least for it to be 3 skybubbles in length/width, if not 4-5,wWhich makes for a hell of a lot of city to travel.

In the IGN E3 Gameplay Demo the Bungie employee stated the rough traveling time (on foot) from wherever he was to the ONI Alpha Site was roughly half an hour to fourty five minutes. He also said that there are other methods of transportation. I expect ODST to be like Halo 3 and Fallout 3's love child.

Halo 3 + Fallout 3 = Win

Garbage trucks?

Garbage trucks?

If only. I'd get epic splatters.

IGN prompted Elephants, but the Bungie employee laughed and said once you've played it you'll "know how close that actually was".

Mongoose off of Elephant FTW?

People were speculating that you could ride in garbage trucks because they said that "the Superintendent even controls the garbage trucks".

The circle is now complete.

In one of the gameplay vids, Joe Staten shows off the wire frame map, in which he hovers over the entire traversable city.

It's pretty big.

Maybe you should check some of the vids to to get a better idea.

Bungie probably made a new vehicle for that, my hunch is sort of like elephant that can haul all of the city's garbage in a day, and it probably goes a little faster.

*New thought*!!!!! The amtrack from that Halo 2 map, what was it? The one with the bullet train that kills you if you stand on the tracks.

There is a map/waypiont featured in the game.

"More than 2 times the size of Avalanche, maybe more." - Bungie Employee, Joesph Staten, I think.

That can't be right. That's tiny for an open-world game.

Well, in the 1UP Demo, Sketch did say that the ONI Alpha Site was nearly 1km away and that people won't want to see them taking 30 minutes walking to that beacon.

It may be an exaggeration but there's a slight idea.
