Anyone else want Bungie to almost solely focus on the campaign, instead of multiplayer? I want a singleplayer game even better than Halo 1. Infact, if the singleplayer is good enuff, I'd be happy with no mulitplayer at all. Who's with me?

Edable - Not to be mistaken with Edible, you cannot eat me unless i am in pie form, which only happens once every 371 years

I hope they will spend a lot of time on the campaign for this game, both Halo 2 and 3 failed to match the epic story that was Halo: Combat Evolved.

Halo is most popular for multiplayer. So I think they should still make the multiplayer awesome but they should also make the campaign awesomer!!!

they should focus on story!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Look... I'm on bungiepedia!

Concentrate FIRST on the gameplay. One of the reasons I love Halo's SP compared to Halo 2/3's SP is because the gameplay in the first game was so much more... fun. Remember the Shotgun?

Taking it to a Spec Ops Elite and hearing the loud *pop!* as he fell to one kneee, then you moved in for the execution in the center of an empty cafeteria, only to stop short as a fizzling green globule of energy flies past your visor and explodes on the ground five meters away from you, causing your shields to flare.

You wheel around and see a black-clad Grunt wielding a fuel rod gun, and from behind him emerge a trio of Spec Ops Elites. They simultaneously flame-up plasma grenades and hurl them straight at your face with pinpoint accuracy... better luck next time.

After gameplay, focus on the single player. After single player, focus on the multiplayer. After multiplayer, focus on survival mode, theater, forge, etc.

I agree but I think forge should go before theater, all theater really needs improvement on is being able to make film clips in campaign, and the ability to easily go back in any of the film. Hopefully the controls in theater will be right trigger to fast forward, and left the left trigger to rewind.

I hate that part so much since I usually exchange my pistol for the shotgun and not the assault rifle.

Halo 3's campaign was pretty fun, I'd like it if they made the campaign like the last mission in Halo 3, that was awesome!

Hmmm very interesting results on the poll guys. Lets keep this alive so Bungie can atleast see it.

Remember how fun splitscreen Multiplayer for Halo: CE was? Yet it was so simple. Halo: CE online would be awesome.

Haters are going to hate.
Praisers are going to praise.

The Bungie Forums are what keeps my mind sharp and my fingers active, between writing my own movie scripts, drawing, and studying industrial design. At the moment I'm working on miniatures for a short movie that I'll hopefully be able to film once I've saved up for a camera... That's me, with the mug, trying to have a conversation with Konoko.

Singleplayer. I wouldnt mind just having five (but they better be good) multi maps from the start, then, when the game is released they can start focusing on more multi content.
As for features such as Theater and Forge, I hope they've got something new up their sleves, something new. Not just campain Forge.

Agreed, not sure what'd be though.

Also, what is every bodies thoughts on cut-scenes? Maybe have some be interact-able? Would you want really long cut-scenes that take up half the game, ala; MGS4?

Sorry, but bump

I think they should focus on campaign and make a really good storyline. I would like to have more control of my Spartan, like the ability to actually fight with whatever martial arts they know. I think that for cutscenes they should have more detailed scenes, and should have more action in them than a ship flying.

WoW is like Girls Gone Wild without the tits: idiots and douches taking turns doing anything to get noticed, and no one knows what a condom looks like.

I think especially for this game, it should focus on story. It's Reach. Where the Spartans fell, and where mankind lost their last real foothold other than Earth. Where defeat looked inevitable. They need to make the story incredibly epic and sad. To get you engaged enough to the characters to feel genuinely saddened if/when they die. The lighting also has to be different. To set the mood. It needs to be darker than the vibrant colors of Halo 3. And without the flood to provide that "fear factor", they are going to have to rely on a more menacing covenant. No more enraged Brutes. You have the stealthier, more subtle, colder elites. It's all about the setting. The immersion. They nail that, and the multiplayer will make itself.

I'm with you. I wouldn't be disappointed if it lacked multiplayer altogether, and instead they focused on Campaign.

I'm sure they'll do both, but all I really care about is experiencing the story in its video game manifestation first and then having fun shooting this and exploding that whatever.

  • 07.27.2009 8:49 PM PDT

Exactly, I'm beginning to think the reason Halo 1 was so good was a result of it lacking online play. And I'd be perfectly happy with that.

Iza R@pe Whith My Brz

i think that the game should be more based more on the books of halo. In halo 1 the pillar of autum jumps from reach and leaves most of the other spartans on reach. they should focus on that more than multiplayer. more of the halo 3 fans should know what happened there because it takes place b4 halo 1

90% Gameplay

Seriously, I would be ok with 5 maps, 12 weapons and 4 vehicles if the gameplay were perfect.

  • 07.27.2009 11:03 PM PDT

50/50 I like both aspects of Halo equally, to be honest.

"They let me pick... did I ever tell you that? Choose whichever Spartan I wanted. You know me. I did my research. Watched as you became the soldier we needed you to be. Like the others you were strong and swift and brave, a natural leader. But you had something they didn't. Something no one saw but me. Can you guess? Luck."

I'll gladly wait for awhile if they make single player REALLY GREAT... Like 10x better than halo 1,2,and 3's singleplayer put together.

Then make multiplayer super great to!

With Large maps that make halo 1 PC's large maps look like Guardian.
Then, some complex maps that make CTF-Assult-etc really fun. With opening and closing doors, elevators, and alot more fun things.

Also, a nice map editor would be nice too.

  • 07.27.2009 11:16 PM PDT

I want a map editor kinda like g-mod.

Anyways I'm glad to see alot of people mostly leaning towards the singleplayer.

75% Campaign, because I love the Campaign but if they spent nearly all of ther efforts on Campaign, the multiplayer wouldn't be up to par and I would be very =(
