Hey guys, i'm new to recording games off of my television and was wondering if somebody could REALLY help me out and list the type of setup i'd need to start using a capture card. Explain it to me like i'm five, because in computer knowledge that's about where i'm at. Any information about Capture Cards, how to use them, and relative prices would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Okay, well, a good video capture card would fit into an AGP slot on your pc. [ugh, here we go]. Go to my computer, view system informations, hardware, device manager, and check for anything with 'AGP' in the name.

Next, which video card do you have now? Check this in the same window under 'display adapters'.

Now, what is your budget?

Anyway, the way a capture card functions, you take either a coaxial cable [one with the pin in the middle] or RCA [red/qhite/yellow] cables, run them from your TV's output jacks, to the card, which sits in your pc in a slot. Then, you begin a capture program - and record!

By the way, if you have an AGP slot, an All in Wonder 9800 or 9600 is good, but an X800 AIW is better, albeit a bit more expensive.
