I've heard banter about the Spartan Laser being overpowered in Halo 3, and I do agree.

Instead of making a huge tweak to it in Reach (if it is in Halo: Reach) I think we should be able to specify how many charges we want in it in Forge mode, so instead of 100 charge you could set it to 60 charge, this means that no drastic changes need to be made to its usability.

This could also be implemented into other charged weapons, but it was the Spartan Laser which struck me as overpowered to an extent.

I only want to see the Halo 2 Brute Shot, Halo PC Fuel Rod Gun toned down a bit and the Halo 3 Rocket Launcher with much faster rockets. No need for cheap weapons like the Spartan Laser and Missile Pod.

The Spartan laser needs no optical zoom in my opinion.

The Spartan Laser does fill in a large gap for anti-vehicle weapons, it's a fun weapon to use but can be an unstoppable force rendering vehicles undesirable metal buckets.

Vehicles should require teamwork to kill, not a 3 second charge up.

We need a weapon that can take out vehicles unless rockets have lock on like in halo 2 we need the spartan lazer or the missle pod

Ever play the first Halo? Lock-on isn't necessary.

Some people never see the light till It shines though bullet holes.

Vote for the most underated weapon

group to talk about halo reach with no spam

The spartan laser was fine for Halo 3. I mean you need an overpowered laser when a sticky grenade wont kill a warthog or ghost half the time.

Why not allow grenades to kill vehicles again instead. Its ridiculous overpowered weapons are needed to kill vehicles in a game where a mix of in vehicle and on foot combat is so prominent.

/Agree , make gameplay more like halo: combat evolved where EVERYTHING could be countered.

Plus you could still enter a vehicle even if your enemies were holding a rocket launcher, you just had to be careful. That's how it is supposed to be , a well packed rocket or grenade would do the trick and never for one second did i think that vehicles were overpowered in halo combat evolved.

Anyway the laser should be dramatically changes if it was to be inside halo: reach.

Amen.

I hate how everyone thinks they are "skilled" with the laser.Like blind to see that anyone and i mean anyone will get a kill(a lot more actually) with the laser and with not much effort.

And who thinks a weapon that forces your enemies to not enter vehicles (on a vehicular combat map) simply because they know you hold it is balanced?

Anti-vehicle weapons must not be so extreme , ever.

I wish that especially for this part (vehicular combat) gameplay will be like halo 1.

Here is how I look at it:

Skilled ground troops should be able to kill a small vehicle without power weapons.

Skilled small vehicles should be able to kill heavy vehicles.

Power weapons should have the ability to kill vehicles but its not a definite thing.

Grenades need to be much stronger with longer fuses.

Nothing should be better just different.
