Subject: How I Think Reach Should Implement Natal

I am of an open mind and I am willing to hear criticism. Also: That's stupid and you're stupid.

I would like Natal to be in Reach, as like extra stuff you can do, not for game play. If you want to do an action, you press and hold any button, or say a certain command to Natal, which would bring you into 3rd person and allow you to do whatever you want instead of shoot(disables shooting because, let's face it, it wouldn't work) in the game. Like high five, do a dance, or anything you could do in real life.

It would be amazing for Machinimas, and just fun overall to dance over a dead body. Haven't we always wanted to go MC Hammer over people's corpses.

Natal shouldn't include any real game play, as I'm sure it won't work well, but it would be perfect as extra "fun" things you could do.

Ugh...

First on a BWU.. yeah, I'm cool.

ODST;MYTHIC Screenshot winner! One of the first to get their hands on the mythic map pack.

Yes, let us allow all these immature 14 year olds to do the most rude, crude things. Great idea.

They would still do immature things even if Natal wasn't implemented. However, Natal can give more options to other players that want to just have fun.

Let's not base it on age btw, Adults can be just as bad.

"If you push this button. Someone. Somewhere will die.

BUT.

You will, hey wait! Didn't you wanna hear what you'd get first!"

I say it should implement hand symbols and talking, for marines and ODST's. If you do play as a spartan, wouldn't it be cool to say, "You! Go over there and hold position!" Or perhaps wave your arm and your entire team advances. That's how I think it should be implemented.

You're thinking along the lines of a Squad Based game, in Halo mulyiplayer, you would simply not have the time to command your teammates with hand gestures.

natal+reach= AWSOME!!

who hasn't ever wanted to tell your comrades in campaign to "attack that enemy" or "Guard that door". it would be soooooooooooo B.A. and i have always wanted to go M.C. Hammer on a corpse. But i do think you could use it in online, as long as everyone else is using it, it levels the playing feild. and on campaign, imagine an emeny is standing with his back to you, you sneak up, reach around, and snap his neck. Try doing that on Halo 3.

Sounds good, Natal may disable shooting but I don't see any reason why they couldn't allow hand combat and what-not.

Natal won't be gameplay related.

why not? imagine driving a warthog by using your controller as a steering wheel(like the burnout demo except with a controller in hand..), sure this isn't ideal for multiplayer but just being able to do in campaign would be great.

Dancing isn't gameplay though =*(

Maybe we can make our "T-Bag" move in a menu and then it can only be activated by pressing a certain button. For as long as you hold a button down it will play your "T-Bag" move.

T-Bagging is just so... old.

Whisper Game Studios - shhhh, it's a public secret.
Webcam MVP
Sarsion.net
Bnet PM Policy

[*Please note that anything in my posts is likely to be filled with sarcasm, and should be taken with a pinch of salt. I tend to help people, usually*]

If Reach does implement Natal, the only thing I would want it to use is voice-recognition and command-giving. And even then, I'd want that to be an addition to gameplay, and not a reliance.

One problem about implementing hand signals as commands (as somebody said) is that your character would be holding a gun in their hand(s) so performing a hand movement really wouldn't work on screen as either their weapon would spaz out or they would drop it etc. etc.

I suppose if you "paused" your character they could holster their weapon and then make the order to move etc.

well the ingame char wont have to emulate what the player does it could just be gesture based

Mmm but from what i've seen of Natal what you do is shown on screen or something "changes" on screen because of your action...I'm not saying it has to, just saying it's perhaps the most probable (if it was to even be implimented)

what they showed at E3 where possible ways it could be used, actions by the player don't have to be mirrored by the onscreen char

great idea for machinima, would make machinima so much more diverse this way.

Should be like weapon lowering, so that its only useable in custom games.
