Fight to Live, Live to Fight.

It would say please keep the "OMG DID THAT JUST HAPPEN!?" Aspect of Halo.

Literally no other game has those moments. From getting killed by vehicle wrecks, from cones, sniper ricochets, Rocket deflections, mongoose + bruteshot shenanigans, the list goes on.

All the things from fail and funtages. Its these moments that, at least for me, set Halo apart from any other game.

Not really. Your mom is over quite enough to make my fears mute.

Being alone.
You're a mod, you should be used to that.

omg, that is totally true!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

-blam!- Was that actually blammed out? Or did I just type it? You'll never know.

I agree. That's the only reason I ever even play Halo 3 anymore. The moments when something that would never happen, happens. Like the con kills, the self snipes, the ridiculou splatters, the no-scopes. The moments that you jump off the couch and high five your best friend and laugh your ass off.

Yup, exactly.

Also, the variety. Halo 3 has the most diverse community I've ever seen in one game.

You have the machinima community (<3) The Forge community, the screenshot artists, the custom junkies, MLG, racetracks, and then the regular everyday people that play matchmaking.

I think the thought of removing such a feeling would never come to Bungie's mind. It is the reason they added theatre afterall.

If I were to choose one thing to keep, it would be the COMPLETE ABSCENCE OF DUAL WIELDING. A close second would be an absence of melee lunge, and third would be the re-introduction of fall damage.

Way to go and pour some serious-sauce all over this nice little thread...But yeah, i know what you mean (OP) with that...I love those moments in campaign when all you can do is stare and let your jaw slowly drop, for example, on The Covenant when *SPOILER* those two Scarabs fall down *END SPOILER*...That just made me shed a tear...and then reload my BR :P

I am of an open mind and I am willing to hear criticism. Also: That's stupid and you're stupid.

You didn't hear? They already made that game. This.

Are you -blam!- ing joking? Okay, if I were to have said "keep dual wielding, melee lunge, and the absence of fall damage" would you have said They already made that game. This.?

I could say that, but I could also say this.

Those aspects are now a part of Halo, and more players prefer them to remain a part of Halo.

If you take a look at the newest installment (H3 ODST), it has no dual wielding, and fall damage is present, so what I suggested is "now a part of Halo," so I don't see what argument you have. I believe that the changes bungie is adding into ODST are to get the crowd ready for what is to come in REACH (gameplay more like Halo 1 than Halo 2 or Halo 3, aka Halo 2.5).

True, but keep in mind, you are neither a Spartan or an Elite. You are a marine/human. Fall damage makes sense for this scenario. A Spartan weighing over a ton is much different.

With a Spartan, i imagine more damage would be done to whatever they landed on than to the Spartan itself (obviously up until a drop from a certain height or speed etc.)

Exactly.

Another thing...Chief survives a fall from extreme altittude on the opening cutscene of H3 and all it does is freezes up the biogel layer of his suit so i imagine a Spartan would be able to survive a minor fall pretty much unscathed

(forgot how to spell altittude :( )

in CE, some falls I felt even I could have survived, without injury too.

I didn't like the fall damage too much, but what they could do is add the stun. If you fall from a certain height you will stay crouched for a second and move slow.

But personally I like the whole no fall damage or stun. Make the game flow better.
