Subject: ODST's Dreams.

why are you looking at this?

actually ODST's have a particular hatred for Spartans, and I'm not so sure about marines.

Marines love them, ODSTs hate them because of John killing three ODSTs.

It isnt fair to say that every odst hates them because three retarded odsts attacked a lump of muscle... i mean spartan. I'm sure there are plenty ODST that absolutely adore the Spartans.

You don't know me, but I know you.
--The Dragon Legion

if you are an odst who wants to become a spartan, again think about this

you basically have to go through thousands of situations where there's a 99.97% chance of death and come out alive. with mark IV armor, because master chief is the only one who was able to wear mark VI. so basically you are dead. ;D happy day

dang i really need to start reading these books..........
you should. Not only do they help you understand the Haloverse, they are fun reads too.

exactly
Heres my suggested order. The Fall of Reach---->Contact harvest------>The Cole Protocol----->The Flood(Basically Halo: CE)----->First Strike------->Ghosts of Onyx
The first 3 all take place in the same time frame, but Fall of Reach will introduce a lot of important characters

when you say thats your suggested order, does that mean it would make most sense that way or what? is there an actual chronological order?

  • 07.13.2009 12:02 PM PDT

Delta. Alpha. November. Indigo. Echo. Lima.

Do you ever think sometimes, "Hmm, i wonder if ODST's and other infantry are jealous of spartans and wish they could be one"?
I mean if i were in the UNSC i would definitely wanna be a Spartan over anything else.
Does anyone agree?

Imagine gettin a wife? hehe

"So what do you do?"
"Kick the covenant's ass"
"What's the highlight of your life?"
"The time when I stuck a grunt with a Brute spike grenade"
"Can you get out of that suit?"
"No. I don't care, I love killin aliens"

*Possible wife leaves the room*

You'd have to give up a lot of things.

That is as close to chronological as it gets. The first three, as stated, kind of overlap each other though. The Fall of Reach should always be the first of the Halo books that you read. It introduces many concepts, characters, and ideas, that you would be completely lost without.

Without me, it's just "Aweso".

I may be wrong, but I believe a marine asks how he could join the Spartan outfit in Fall of Reach.

Bringing you lame jokes, social awkwardness and the occasional good idea since 2008

Only some of the higher ranking officers disliked the Spartans.

And they are writing the "Forrunner Series" supposedley. I dont know when the Forrunner series is, but i suspect faaaaaaarrrr in the past. =]

Why should Cole protocol go before FoR? Cole protocol features the spartans, which, chronologically, is during FoR, but before the Sigma Octanus incident. I can understand Contact Harvest though, I was debating where I should put that one. I personally, don't like to split books up like you did with First Strike, but whatever floats your boat I guess. I just think FoR is probably the most important of all the books to read.

Im not sure id like reading half now half later, i dont need PERFECT chronological order, just one thats about right and makes good sense

First Strike takes place almost entirely after the flood. There are flashbacks spread throughout it though.

  • 07.13.2009 1:21 PM PDT

There is a pro in every one

i would love to be a sparton

  • 07.13.2009 1:23 PM PDT

I would not mind being a Spartan, because I would just randomly flip cars and do awesome spartany things. I would not mind being an ODST, because they are bad asses. I would rather be a Spartan though.
