quoted from halopedia:

Deja Vu is an achievement in Halo 3: ODST and one of the Vidmaster challenges. It is unlocked when you complete Highway (Firefight) on 4-player Legendary Live co-op, with Iron skull activated, and not using the Warthog or Scorpion at all. It is worth 25 Gamerpoints.

Q:
was firefight not meant to be unending waves of covenant? if so, how are you supposed to "complete" "highway" which is supposedly a firefight map? unless halopedia's sources are wrong and "highway" is a campaign mission

They're wrong. Highway is indeed, a Campaign mission. Probably the last level too.

Those achievements are, with any luck, fake. The wording and mistakes like that just add to the likelihood of fakery.

Just ignore this moron, guys. Not worth proving that they're real if he's honestly that stupid.

Mods have given up, basically. Theres no point in banning people when it's all over Youtube, every gaming site to exist, and on these forums. They can't control it, banning people would just be retarded.

I said 'with any luck they're fake', meaning I had hoped I hadn't ruined my own enjoyment of teh game by clicking in here and finding out that the last mission is called highway, engineers are in the game, and that there were at least 75 collectible tapes.

First of all, I doubt we can get banned for discussing leaked material.

Okay, from what we know from those leaked stuff, "Coastal Highway" is the final mission as it seemingly unlocks a Firefight mission called 'Last Exit'. Highway I guess is used as a short form of that name.

Another reason to believe these aren't real. Why would they shorten it?

Why not? Why do we shorten "do not" to "don't"? That is your answer.

Because Coastal Highway is one hell of a long name? And that Achievement's text is in of itself pretty long?

Also, it is either pure luck or those achievements are the real deal. In the first wave of those leaks, the Classic achievement was labeled with Marty's name. Later, in a podcast, they joked about it. This isn't proof exactly, but this improves the credibility.
Also, on the wording, those are Beta Achievements. They might change some and replace some. Those are -probably- not going to be the exact achievements that ship with ODST, and the wording/grammatical errors will be fixed.

Moreover, for a fake, no one is going to go to the trouble to come up with Custom Icons.

If it didn't have icons it wouldn't be very convincing, would it?

Besides, look, you get an achievement for getting that first kiosk, 30 seconds later you get an achievement for getting the map.

It's sad that the ninjas have been defeated...
The internet and it's users can be so cruel.

  • 07.13.2009 6:36 AM PDT

Well maybe Bungie's being nice to us after "Overkill", "Two for One", "Maybe Next Time Buddy" and "Stepping Razor".

God knows how spread out they may be in the actual game? That was merely a demo put together to quickly show off elements of the game.

Even at that point, its nothing wrong.

The fact that Marty pretty much confirmed one of those and that the logos are too professional to have been fake plus Microsoft's intense action in th beginning when the stuff first got leaked, all point to this being true.

I got Two for One, then 5 days later, I got Overkill and Steppin' Razor at the same time. They weren't that difficult.

If you had to start over three new accounts cause of -blam!- Microsoft you wouldn't think so.

Ah, I just got back here after reading over the achievements:

since when was a needler explosion called a supercombine? that on its own makes me *slightly* doubtful of the truth of these.

when I say 'reading over' I mean watching the leaked vid. And another note, the fact that this video was released through a youtube channel showcasing Modded maps and other stuff would make anyone sceptical.

Meh, Marty already confirmed the achievements were real in the podcast, by saying how the achievement designers asked him if they could put the "Be Like Marty" achievement in, and if you look in the leaked achievements, it's there.

That's enough proof alone. (Don't believe me? Go listen to it).

this is a pointless argument. Why not just wait 6 weeks 'til the strategy guide comes out, or just forget about the achievements and enjoy the game?
