Life is a journey, if you spend all of it with your nose in your map, you may miss some of the best parts.

Of course red screen when hurt. Shield bar flashing red when shield down!

Bringing you lame jokes, social awkwardness and the occasional good idea since 2008

No, and anyway COD isn't the first game to have a red screen when you get shot. COD doesn't have a health bar either. You don't aim down the sights, you can't kill a brute with 2-3 shots to the chest, its just not the same.

  • 07.13.2009 1:19 PM PDT

Oh my God, Battlefield is also getting close to CoD with the red screen! But I doubt that CoD was the first one with the red screen... Maybe it's CoD that get's alot like Halo. Weapons, radar, marines, etc.

Not really. Red is universally a "trouble" sign. It's not like CoD claimed it for itself. Plus Halo has always had the "Flash Fire" or whatever its called when you get hit and a red arrow shows on your hud in the direction of the damage. So it's almost like a spin off of that if you think about it.

So no. It's definately still Halo.

please dude, are you serious? That's like saying, "Halo is getting wayyy to close to CSI because now we have to actually look for things!" it's just ONE new thing to the franchise, don't worry. Halo is still Halo.

i just think the boundaries between halo and CoD are being crossed. You're the soldiers, red screen, and i don't know about this but maybe aiming like CoD.

Red screen has been around since Halo CE, you DO NOT(bungie confirmed) aim down the sights, and of course you are a soldier, its a freaking FPS.

You were always a soldier, The Master Chief is just a better soldier. There is no ADS in ODST. Red screen has been in about every first person shooter since there conception. Halo pioneered most FPS concepts anyway. The controls, carrying 2 weapons, vehicles, etc.

no need for that, just help him out. To me though I don't think CoD is anything near halo, infact I see them as near polar opposites, not genera wise but you know what I mean super soldiers with huge armour and futuristic weapons compared to like todays standards.

That sir is a terrible argument.
Boundaries are not being crossed on any way.

It's actually what you'd expect from an everyday FPS.
(talking about "red screen" and such)

Why must everything Bungie does have to be labeled as "copying"?
I'll never understand.

everything anyone does is labeled as copying. Not too long ago the Flood was alive for about half a day on how GI Joe was copying halo.

There are similarities in everything, but that does not mean that they are copying anything. It comes down to how logical it is, like red screen when you take damage. Red=bad and damage=bad therefore Red screen=damage. And COD is not the first to have red screen anyway. But I've even seen people try to say the Visr is a copy of Night Vision in Haze on the PS3.

  • 07.13.2009 1:32 PM PDT

No, i'd have to say that they're sticking closer to halo:ce then anything else.

if someone says that, then they are utterly retarded. Halo: CE had night vision in the sniper rifle. Night vision has been around for a long time as well.

you know, you're right. The game is exactly like Call of Duty. Or maybe it's a more natural display of distress for a human not wearing MJOLNIR armor. No wait, that doesn't make sense.... it must be that they ripped off COD, the first game to ever have your screen flash red when getting hurt.

That is such a big feature, the game is obviously ripping off COD. They already stole their matchmaking system right!?

*rolls eyes*

How come I never get the sniper rifle?!

My ROFLsniper goes POW!

Who cares if they are slightly similair? OHNO!!!!!! They are the same game because of a universal trouble signal on the screen when you get shot! =O. But every FPS is similar to all the other FPS. Red flash when you get shot, seeing your hands on your screen, etc. But seriously, its no big deal.

Where do you think the entire Call of Duty controller layout came from? That's right, from the standard for FPS console games that Halo set.

  • 07.13.2009 1:38 PM PDT

I doubt it. It looks like it'll be the same Halo experience, only a few differences.

  • 07.13.2009 1:40 PM PDT

cod is not the only game flashing red (halo has the sheilds flash red when you are wounded). everyone will say halo is going off to cod side if halo reach has classes but cod is not the only game with classes.

  • 07.13.2009 1:42 PM PDT

Halo was around way before COD
