Okay here we go...
Many people in Halo 3 and Halo 2 have grown to love the Battle Rifle, no? The Battle Rifle is quite possibly the best weapon you can have in Halo 3/2.
Why you ask? It's simple really. The Battle Rifle is both strong and has good range, plus it's accurate.

Now than since we have such a powerful weapon the question is why pick up another weapon. The only reason people pick up other weapons (other than a sheer hate for the BR) is because those weapons have abilities the BR does not have. Take the sniper for example. People pick this up because it is powerful, 2 or one shot kill and you can kill from distance. Sounds like the perfect weapon right? Wrong the sniper fails at close range and 90% of the time fails medium range. The BR on the other hand can kill people from close to medium. If it is in the hands of a skilled player it can be used to kill a sniper from large distances.

My proposition is to have weapons in Halo: Reach that uses characteristics from the BR or any other weapon somewhat like that (the Carbine). I would like to see a single shot BR with the same bullet power of the old one (meaning you need to pull the trigger twelve times) and a weapon the is burst fire but has no scope (make it have the 5 shots to kill or 13 bullets?). This would make people pick up different weapons since no one weapon would be controlling.

PLEAS POST IDEAS TO KEEP THREAD ALIVE THANKS.

The original BR, at least from the Halo 2 MP Beta, was single shot when zoomed. It was awesome, I would love to see it come back.

But that BR is essentially the same thing just single shot when zoomed.

I hunt for the Prophet of Contentment, the San 'Shyumm that murdered my son, and stole his birthright, his Energy Sword. They call our species Heretics. They claim to all that our tongues sting, our words a vile poison that feeds on the unworthy. I have seen the true face of Heresy. The head of a gallant warrior lay on the ground. His neck scorched and blistered, scarred by his own blade. I shall retrieve the weapon, and drive it through that bastard's heart! Punishment for his sins is nigh.

The Carbine is a single shot variant of the BR (In terms of gameplay, I know it is Covie, not human)

ODST;MYTHIC Screenshot winner! One of the first to get their hands on the mythic map pack.

Burst rifle (scope or no scope) is a great idea.

Posting on bungie.net should require that the user has had to have read a chapter book all the way through.
