I have spent weeks working on this list of things that we the players want to put into Reach. The long version of the list has everything we could hope for but its so long and bulky i feel bungie may find it too much of a pain to go through so i have made this shortend version that specifys everything in each section a few paragaphs at a time. With the help of many people the list had gotton to over 30,000 characters and i want to thank them all,

Now for the completed, organized and shortend list of everything the mass of the fanbase and players want for Halo: Reach
Starting with what most players voted to improve, the CAMPAIGN and STORY.
Everyone wants a longer campaign then Halo 3 had, and much more story, the idea i have for this is to make Reach's camapign like Halo 2's where you play on two sides, this would increase the length of the campaign most definitly. By playing as the aliens in the battles the aliens won and as the spartans/UNSC in the battles that the aliens lost. This way Bungie can fill in any plot holes from the books and create battles that werent talked about or described in the books. The next thing to do for campaign is to be able to control your NPC allys to a certain extent, many players feel that the NPCs arnt helpful at all, they are just there to have infinite ammo for what ever gun they are holding and driveng you around. This is a way they can be useful at the players command, if Reach uses mostly the same controls of Halo 3 then 3 basic orders can be put into the D-pad, attack(left), Hold position(down), Man vehicle(right)(or what ever commands Bungie thinks are better). Also another interesting idea is to be able to drive a vehicle while in the gunners/passenger position, it would work like this, if theres an NPC driveing the warthog then you can use the left stick to control the warthog yourself(or order which direction to go)since while in the gunner seat your only useing the right stick to aim, and you wouldnt be able to do it if another player is driveing or if theres no driver. I think this would make playing with the NPCs less aggravating trying to get them to drive to the right places or not get hit by enemy fire. And if your not touching the left stick then they will drive normally with their AI. Personally I THINK THIS WOULD BE ONE OF THE BEST THIGNS TO EVER HAPPEN TO CAMPAIGN. The last few things players want are increased AI for ally troops so they can last longer on harder settings, and more funny and cool skulls like shown here. Also another thing is "Helmet Cams" as seen here it would be great to find out how certain ODST units died, it would be like gears of wars tag collecting and red factions audio clip finding but in Halos own way.
So thats all the players want for campaign, basically more story, command options, AI and vehicles.(preferbaly huge ones like the elephants)
Small note: a number of players want a VS campaign mode but that sounds difficult to make, so its just a thought.
Now for the aspect of the game that keeps people playing, MULTIPLAYER.
If multiplayer stays at 16 players online it will make alot of players(and non-players)feel like its just another Halo game, increaseing it to at least 24 would make the battles alot more fun and epic for big maps. Then theres matchmaking, everyone wants there to be a search screen for what ever type of match and game they want, as well as a custom games playlist so players can share their custom made maps with everyone online, i think this would be a perfect idea to increase replayability. Players can make it to where their custom game is Open to all, Friends only, or Private. It would make multiplayer much more fun for people that play custom games all day but can never find big enough partys to play with. The players also want a infection playlist cause come on, its epic zombie fun, and with 24 players you could REALLY feel like your fighting a zombie hoard. We want alot of Reach'es MP maps to have more unquie vehicles on them like the elephant and pelican, the peli CAN work but i know it may be difficult for the engine to put it in a match with 24 players, if it does work it should be able to hold 6 passengers and 2 pilots, one to fly and one to control the guns, i wont even try to figure out how much damage it would take to shoot it down but when it does get shot down before it crashes it should swivel in the air for a bit while lights flash red in the cargo signeling the passengers to get out and when it crashes then there will be a massive damageing explosion.
The ranking system most everyone hates, its complicated and difficult to rank up, you have to win like 10 battles in a row only to go down by 1 loss, and ive seen players useign the "quit and lose exp" thing to their advantage somehow, i dont know how someone can be rank 36 with 0 exp, everyone agrees that Halo 2's ranking system was far more evened out, whats more is it didnt match a team of captins to a team of brigadiers and generals, everytime the other team was nothign but generals and brigadiers alot of the players on the lower ranked side quit or didnt even try, because a team of players that high ranked is like a real team of
spartans, they are just too good.
Other thoughts for multiplayer gameplay are listed below with short explinations:
Weather effects(would be nice to fight in rain in a ruined city map and such, it would make the game feel much more realistic)
Bots to replace players that quit:(as i said just a thought, i know that would put a strain on the server and engine but it would be nice to have a replacement)
All weapons available for multiplayer(cause really theres alot of times we wished we had firebombs and fuel rods and such)
Destructable enviroment(would be fun to bring buildings down)
Squad based gameplay(if made 100% correctly it may make the game a great deal more fun and if not it would feel just like other squad based FPS's)
Trigger system(aka victory and lose conditions as seen here http://www.bungie.net/Forums/posts.aspx?postID=34314518 )
Next is what lets the players be themselves, PERSONAL CUSTOMIZATION(+new gameplay element)
First thing of all, more armor varients for elites(arbiters maybe) and spartans like maybe some from the books, and brute characters, adding brute characters would increase individualism by 1/3 making that much of the players more happy and give people another reason to buy the game. Also a color wheel, instead of havign to pick through a few base colors have it to where they can change their color to whatever they want with the wheel, also brign black back, i know it may seem like a disadvantage to other players since they could try to hide in the shadows but what about white with snow? or tan with sand? and green with grass? it worked fine in halo 1 im sure it can work again. When I first heard that we could change our armor in halo 3 i thought that each set of armor would do different effects and such but they didnt which was very disappointing. Something that alot of players think would make the gameplay more dynamic is armor traits, like each piece of armor increases certain resistences and abilities of the player, Arguements with that is that they would mainly be unlockables and some players would have advantages that other players dont, and theres also the problem of keeping Halo at what it is, a simple FPS shooter that anyone can pick up and play, my solution for this would be that in custom macthes and some online matchtypes the armors abilitys and resistences could be disabled and with that idea i think armor with resistences and such could work quite well. The only matter would be thinking up a good balenced starter set(all the armor players get right off the bat). Though it would take along time to work it all out it would give players another dimension of gameplay.
Another thought is different HUDS for different helmets, that would be pretty sweet to have into multiplayer, would give more sense of individualism.
Now what affects replayability, FORGE AND MAPS
The maps have always been awesome say for a select few, i think there should be more larger maps with bases on them like Standoff, High ground, and blood gulch. With Sandbox bungie said it was fully editable but it didnt even have half the things that Foundry had, like half shield doors, or all the random stuff thats used in Dodge It, there should be maps that can have changeable climate and EVERY ITEM (and all weapons) should be on every map, and there needs to be less of a item limit and more cash for the maps. It would give players complete access to what they can create and there needs to be a better forge system, there needs to be more editing tools, like a snap reaction that can be turned on and off for simple and advanced maps, the fusion glicth should stay ofcourse thats what makes the best maps, or just make it another optional thing where items move through each other like they arnt solid and then switch it on and off to get perfect fusion results and it would be great to have a automactic floating option, that would make the item float as soon as you let go, like place it anywhere in any position and it stays. Like all the players want a delete all button so they dotn have to spend so much time deleteing things one by one, and a undo and redo button incase they mess something up that would be a pain to put back.
