This is just a poll to see what halo book in the series is the best. Only answer if you have read all or most of the books. In my opinion I would have to say that Eric Nylund's books are the best because they fit together the best.

Remember,
It is easy to be male
it is another thing to be a man.

I would go for TFOR as it is written by Eric Nylund and because i like knowing back story to any game or universe.

Although this thread should be in Bungie Universe forum, not the Reach forum.

Haters are going to hate.
Praisers are going to praise.

The Bungie Forums are what keeps my mind sharp and my fingers active, between writing my own movie scripts, drawing, and studying industrial design. At the moment I'm working on miniatures for a short movie that I'll hopefully be able to film once I've saved up for a camera... That's me, with the mug, trying to have a conversation with Konoko.

Can I awnser if I've read all expet The Cole Protocol?

I do not appreciate B.Net Group solicitation. If you ignore this and send me an invitation anyway, I will block communications with you.

Nylund's books definitely come Top 3, but while I didn't enjoy the author change in The Flood, I did enjoy its insight into the more in-depth events of Halo: CE's timeline that the game did not reveal, and so it would not be my last choice as some seem to have made it.

I found Cole Protocol to be very sluggish, so my order would be as follows:

The Fall of Reach
First Strike
Ghosts of Onyx
The Flood
Contact Harvest
Cole Protocol

I had a hard time between choosing TFOR and the "any book by Eric Nylund". But I had to stick with fall of reach because I really enjoy the way it involves you with the characters before Halo CE.

I remember asking so many questions when I beat halo for the first time and I really felt like the book did a good job of leading into the story line of H1. I would have to place the books in this order for my most enjoyed -

1. The Fall of Reach
2. Ghosts of Onyx
3. First Strike
4. The Flood
5. Contact Harvest (too bad this one wasn't as good. I had high hopes for mr. staten but I still liked learning a little more about Sgt Johnsons story aside from the game)
Have not read - The Cole Protocol

He watches every Hodgetwin video they put up...on ALL their channels. He calls them the Hodge Triplets, and considers himself the 3rd triplet. He's started talking and acting like them now. Every other line out of his mouth "Thaaas some BULLLLLL**** maaayne" or "Gotta make dem gainzzzz". He calls his biceps "gains". When he eats post-workout, he talks to his biceps, "Don't worry gains, I'm feeding you. Daddys gonna feed you, gainz *kisses biceps*".

Gosh, it's really hard for me because the only one I actually did not like much was The Flood, and the non-Master Chief stuff in that book was great regardless. Before I give my list, I've got to say, in my opinion, that Joseph Staten was actually the most talented writer to pen a Halo book, with all due respect to Nylund. Contact Harvest, while it was the most "boring" of the books, was also the most nuanced and fascinating, and the way that Staten managed to make every detail come to life made it the most believable book, to me. Nonetheless, here's my order:

First Strike
Fall of Reach
Contact Harvest
Cole Protocol
Ghosts of Onyx
The Flood
