Subject: For people who think people can't get recon in ODST

You can,
The List only applies to contests or anything in Halo 3.Even if you make Bungie piss their pants laughing.
But in ODST,RECON is on the disk.Kind of like you get Katana for getting 1000/1000 GS.You get RECON for completing all the Vidmasters.
So there all you nonbelievers.

Actually, some very serious cases have been permanently banned, I believe. I have a strong memory of it being said not long ago. I may be mistaken.

Here we go, from a weekly update:

players who might never receive Recon via any method - the answer is probably no. We typically reserve those line items for the really egregious offenders, for example, players who convinced themselves it was a great idea to mod their way to the achievements that aren't available through official means just yet.

If you're on 'The List,' you can't obtain Recon via any method. It was in the Weekly Update a while back.

Oh really?

look at this From update (5/22/09)

For those wondering if that means they're on The List - the compilation of names we've collected of players who might never receive Recon via any method - the answer is probably no. We typically reserve those line items for the really egregious offenders, for example, players who convinced themselves it was a great idea to mod their way to the achievements that aren't available through official means just yet.

But if you've been banned for EXP boosting, your penalty has already been delivered. If you lost your File Share privileges, the consequences of your actions have already been realized. You can still have Recon come Fall, as long as you complete all of the Halo 3 and Halo 3: ODST achievements required, just like everyone else.

And this isn't your cue to message us asking for a detailed itemization of each and every ban type for severity so you can determine if you have made The List. If your punishment was only temporary, or was confined only to Bungie.net, chances are you have nothing to worry about.

I don't know if there's a code, but soon as you put that code for Halo 3, you still won't have Recon.
Correct me if I'm wrong but it does says if you're on 'The List,' you won't be able to recieve Recon through any method.

No problem.

There is your proof that you CAN obtain Recon via the Vidmaster Achievements...

People who got EXP banned are still allowed to Recon through Vidmaster challenges, but for the people who are on The List, you can't get Recon.

I already know about the second paragraph. The OP was saying, people who are on The List, can still get Recon - he's wrong. They can't. The people who only got EXP banned, can still get Recon, but via Vidmaster challenges.

The List does include people who are EXP banned

  • 07.13.2009 6:01 PM PDT

Okay. The people who modded or hacked the Halo 3 Achievements and/or got caught using a Lag Switch or a Host Booter, Or some other major offense. They are the ones that cannot obtain Recon via the Vidmasters or any other method.

People who got only minor bans like an EXP ban or File Share ban. They can still obtain Recon via the Vidmaster Achievement method. The only way these people cannot obtain Recon is through some kind of contest. But they can still get Recon eventually.

No, it doesn't. The List is full of names of people who will NEVER get Recon armor, no matter what. If you've been EXP banned, you're not on The List.

Yes, But those are the people who don't deserve Recon. The people who got an EXP or File Share Ban can still obtain Recon through the Vidmaster Achievements, That's what I'm getting at.

I know that, but the OP is talking about The List.
