This may just be nit-picking, but I recently clicked onto my clan's recent games. Our clan is called the Mongul Knights, which ends with an 's'. However, bungie.net insists on having the button "Back to Mongul Knights's games", which is clearly bad grammar. There need not be an extra 's'.

Of course, this doesn't really affect anyone, but if you guys at bungie have a spare ten minutes or so....

Just thought I'd mention it.

Well, I'm not so sure if they could fix something minor like that.

It's one of those preset things.

They could but I don't think they will. There is probably a string somewhere that has the clan's name in it. You could read the last character of the statement and put in a conditional statement that if it was a 's' then change then use ' else use 's.

"...s's" is perfectly valid gramatically.

No its not, the apostrophe denotes the extra 's' so in England at least that is bad grammar. ( i can't believe i just wasted so much of my life mentioning that. ho hum have another sandwich...)

-Quaere verum.

Got a report? Use the report tool or send a pm.
Chairleg Productions presents: 'Console Wars' and 'Games as Art?' (also on Halo Waypoint).

There's only one way to settle this. Spell check.

Guess what. goweb was right.

Case settled. The point is, i doubt very much that Bungie are going to change it.

Duke Shootem is correct when referring to the name of his clan, goweb is correct in certain situations (unless you live in the U.S. as I do, just because we have to be different). Here is a website that states:

* add 's to the singular form of the word (even if it ends in -s):
the owner's car
James's hat (In the U.S. we don't add the s at the end of James'.)

* add 's to the plural forms that do not end in -s:

the children's game
the geese's honking

* add ' to the end of plural nouns that end in -s:

houses' roofs
three friends' letters

Mongul Knights' would be grammatically correct because Knights is plural, but there are cases where ...s's is acceptable as shown above.

Edit: I didn't not have no good grammar well.

I'm sure it's such a pain in the arse to see that extra "s".

Talking about bad grammar, anyways? Anyway, you mean.

Gramatically valid? Are you sure?

Anyways, at least this guy knows what he's talking about. Even if they did change the code to handle that exception, other names that weren't plural that ended in 's' would be affected. I think you're boned.

It was a cold day near the southern base in Blood Gulch. Cortana and I were relaxing over a game of Go Fish, WHEN OUT OF NO WHERE 700 BANSHEES CAME FLYING IN!!! I GRABED MY SPARTAN LASER AND LET HELL REIGN DOWN UPON THEM. I HOPPED IN THE NEAREST WARTHOG AND TOLD CORTANA TO GET IN.

Did you just post excatly what he said?

I'm not that active, but never dead.

Remember people, different countries, different spelling.

American: Color.
Canadian:Colour.

That is just an example. Also, for the first poster, I really don't see any wrong grammer, that is, of course, unless you're American. Who for some reason decided that English was too proper and had to change everything.

Let me kill this. Knights is the singular name of a group, not a bunch of bungleing knights in shining armor, so the s's would be correct.

goweb is, as always, correct (although it is spelled grammatically). I, however, prefer " s' ", as it is much cleaner. For some more information, check out Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. It is a good source of knowledge.
