first of all, it is true that there were no "cheat codes" for halo 1. no god mode, no "all guns" cheats.
however, since halo had its fair share of open holes in the programming, there are what has come to b known as "tricks" or "glitches."
now, a glitch isnt quite like a cheat. cheats are designed to make allow you to beat apart of the game that you otherwisae could not. personally, one of the reasons I love playing halo on campaign mode is to try and see just how far I can go in that level, or how high i can get in this level, or what can I do to these dudes in this one?
I hope that halo2 will have some of the same stuff. I know that with all this time spent on making it PERFECT they probably wont have as many glitches, or nearly as many loopholes, but I am hoping there will be something. that one aspect that made halo1 really fun for me - not trying to finish the game!
however, I have finished it a few times over, and the difficulty levels do give it some replay value, but without those odd glitches it would not be as enjoyable.
replay value is also something I think bungie has been thinking about. now I have not heard any official announcement of a "covie campaign," but I would not be surprised if they are considering it (although by this time I hope that they would have considered it and said yay or nay)
IF there is a covie campaign, I'm not realy sure I would want it to be "unlockable"
that would be an interesting little gem in the game. or, they could do it like starcraft, where you have the storylines to choose from, but they suggest you complete them in order first, to make the story make sense.
I do agree about the cheats. halo1 didnt have them, and didnt need them. I was happy exploiting the glitches in crazy ways. but hey, you wouldnt really need the cheats if the easy seting is still as easy as it was. and if youre woried about multiplayer cheating - dont be. bungie isnt stupid. they know that it sucks to have to play with cheaters. I have no doubt that they would not allow cheats in MP if halo2 has cheats.
as far as this "oh I hate cheats and covie campaign is so f****** -blam!-..." well u guys can get over it. I for one will like anything bungie throws out with halo 2. And no, if, IF, they are adding a covie campgin it will not delay the release date. this would have already be considered in that time allotment.
But since none of us really know if they are even adding a covie campaign you really dont have to worry. besides if you dont want to play it, I doubt they would make you.
