I believe that some of the new vehicles found in Halo Wars would make a great addition to Halo: Reach. Particularly the following:

Human: The Vulture, the Wolverine and the Cobra.

Covenant: The Locust. (Note in the trivia section, insect-like mining machines were used in the Battle of Reach. A perfect fit, no?)

What do you think?

vampire, locust, and sparrow hawk without the guass turrets

I would like to see some vultures. Also seeing some locusts tearing up the remains of Reach would be cool.

vultures shouldnt be flyable. and the vampire takes 2 to operate one to gun and one to fly

Well i rather use a pelican, it has 70mm rounds and missiles just like a vulture.
Everything else in halo wars does not work well in 3d fps, only in strategy games.

I agree that a Vulture shouldn't be flyable, but they would make for a cool backup unit in a mission. Or maybe it's an aerial battle and instead of being escorted by Pelicans, they could throw in a Vulture or two.

How's that? I figure at least some smaller vehicles like the Wolverine or the Locust make perfect sense. One is primarily an anti-air (like an AA Wraith) while the other has something akin to a powerful sentinel beam. And you could always add some recharge times for the more powerful of the abilities.

good idea but i would think that the grizzles would be a good addition to the game. and the vulture too. but the vulture wouldn't be flyable you'd just be riding in it at the beginning of a levle. and you can get out of your seat and maybe stock up on some guns and ammo while your there. and possibly gun in one of the turrets. but then the vulture gets shot down out of the air and you being a spartan are the only one to crawl out of there alive. and you continue your fight
(battle) on foot. and locust would be cool but they only have the main cannon and can barely kill one marine as is so unless they amp up the main cannon on the locust it would be impractical, and very VERY pointless to use.

Being in a Vulture for a little bit would be pretty cool, but I don't know if we would really want a rail-shooter segment in a Halo game.

Personally I don't think that having any of them playable makes any practical sense, none of them are made for this type of game. Having a couple of them featured would work out, but only the practical ones. My picks would be Woverines and Locusts, since these two make sense.

I agree to an extent. I believe that some of the vehicles can be slightly retooled to be playable in a FPS like Reach (especially the 2 you mentioned). But as far as other vehicles go I think that it would be great just to see them make a cameo of some sort. I believe that would add validity to the cohesiveness of the Halo Universe.

So the equivalent of a warthog in the air? IMO I think that's pretty cool.

So Locusts, vampires and maybe a cobra would make sense.

I understand where you are coming from, but the issue of practicality still prevails. The Halo games (excluding Wars) have arial gunships (Pelicans can be fitted as such), as well as Long Sword interceptors. There is no need or purpose for a heavy gunship to be shoe-horned in for the hell of it. Same goes with Covenant Vampires, who's existence is negated by the prescence of the Banshees.

The thing to remember is that these units were built around the premise of balance and counter balance that exists within an RTS. The main games that take place in a more "military practical" world, would have no need for these specialized units.

The only reason I feel a Woverine and Locust wouldn't hurt as cameo's/NPC vehicles is because the Locust would be a great precursor to the Scarab (not seen origionally until Halo2) and the Wolverine is a dedicated AA battery, something that has never been available to the UNSC until Wars.

I understand that all the vehicles in Halo Wars were made to be in an RTS. But Halo Wars also took a lot of units/vehicles from Halo 1-3 (all FPS) and made them work within the framework of an RTS. One of my points is that you can take something from a different genre, and make the idea/unit work for you in a different genre. The vehicle doesn't have to be exactly the same as it's Halo Wars counter-part.

And I sincerely believe that not only would some of these vehicles be a great nod to Bungie's efforts at retaining canon in the Halo universe, but it would enhance the game as well.

Although, I should mention that I agree, some units in Halo Wars (Vampire, Gremlin, etc.) would be hard to incorporate into this game, they might even feel forced. But it no less stands that some of the vehicles have potential to be included into Reach.

incorporate the smaller, less powerful ones that aren't one sided such as the scarab

you are a good translator
Idiot can be a hard language to learn, but once you get it down, everything becomes so clear! The whole world will make sense to you.

Imagine jacking a Locust and sending an advancing Covenant platoon packing as you burn the ground to a slick glass behind them.
