okay I'm sure under "Movies" i hav the "Record Sound" box checked off as well as the option for "detect best sound input", the correct sound card is chosen and under Sound Input it says Wave, should it say this? Also if i select "use Windows input" instead of saying Wave, it will say Microphone, when this is selected the sound is recorded from my mic. and i can hear it, unfortunately when it says Wave and i record a video no sound whatsoever is being recorded, i imported numerous recordings into Windows Movie maker just to confirm that there were no sounds recorded whatsoever, the line was totally flat. So any idea what's wrong? Could it be that the sound coming out of my speakers isin't Wave? Also I was thinking could it be the fact that I have quadrophonic speakers set up to the computer? Because I would really like to be able to record sound, without having to put my mic. against a speaker, any help would be appreciated.

For me it detects stereo mix for sound input. Can you change the input type?

wow it took like 20min. to finally view this thread, man the forums are moving as slow as the grizzeled ancients themselves...anyways no, other than selecting "use windows input" i cannot change the input type, and when i select the windows input, the sound is recorded through my microphone.
