The toast was burned, the pie was delicious, and the cake......was a lie.

If you played and finished Halo Wars, you remember the Spirit of fire had no FTL drive. They also said that it would take quite a couple of years to get back to a colony. In the legendary ending, Serina says this. "Captain, wake up. Something has happened." If you played Halo wars, you fight with Red team. Spartans.
Possibly Reach? It could of taken 20 years to get back to Reach, and when they got there, the Covenant had gone to fight the rest of the humans on Halo. In their rush, they did not bother to kill all the humans on Reach. They might hear a distress call, thus beginning Halo: Reach.
Alright, I'll work on it but that's it for now. Now, the Arbiter took his fleet (Remains of it at least) to Halo, a number of ships stayed behind. Thus creating our enemy. Spartans unaccounted for, our heroes.
Link to Serina's message. WARNING! Skip to 9:30 to get to the message without seeing SPOILER!
No flames. Constructive criticism please :D
Ensemble and Bungie worked together for Halo wars' canon(cy?) so why not?
Hey, its possible. To be honest, it sounds a whole lot more likely than "Time Travel"
Oh, and by the way? I have read the books. Thank you very much.

It isn't our shiznit anymore.

I don't think that would happen, because very little military personnel had knowledge of Reach. So why would Serina set coordinates to an unknown destination? I think Serina would most likely set coordinates to the nearest known colony. And Halo Wars was very uncanon.

And why did you make two threads of the same topic?

EDIT: Ah, my mistake.

Firstly, I made two threads for the two time zones.
Secondly, pretty much EVERYONE had co-ordinates to Reach. It was the UNSC's most developed colony and shipyard. Jeez.

Look... I'm on bungiepedia!

Doubt it, but its possible.

This would place the game after First Strike (otherwise Cortana would notice the SOF's beacon), not before Halo 1. The Arbiter took his surviving fleet with him to Halo, but the other Elite Admiral(s) remained at Reach to conquer the world. Fred, Will, Kelly, Grace, Anton, and Li made it off of the planet with John and Johnson. This leaves 11 Team Beta members, 3 Team Gamma members, Isaac, and Vinh on Reach with uncertain fates. And then if the SOF Spartans link up with them... could have a nice resistence.

You do realise that you can't go further than the 60th minute in an hour right?

Yeah ok, maybe not in Canada...

Cole Protocol. UNSC ships were forbidden to head straight toward any human colony. If they did so it was considered an act of treason. Random coordinates were used on a regular basis by every UNSC ship.

What I am understanding here is there was no slipspace travel for the Spirit of Fire, so they couldn't jump to a random location then get to a human colony. I doubt the Spirit of Fire had enough supplies to last long. So they probably made a slow crawl to thenearest human colony. (it wouldn't matter going to a random location because thier Slipspace engines didn't work) Right?

good theroy but i doubt it because if u have readeed the halo books it will tell u what happens after reach and there is no mention of the spirit of fire and the covenant still had a lot of ships in ordit so unless bungie change the writing of the books it won't be. it also mentions that there are still a few spatans on reach so it is most likly to be them

naw this wont happen. that would be a little odd wouldnt it?

I read the time travel post and thought it to be COMPLETELY absurd.
I think that since the SOF is a colony ship, it would have quite a big hold for supplies. They might of passed other colonies, saw that they where glassed and moved on.

Doc: "i'm a pacifist"
Caboose: "your a thing that babies suck on?"
Tucker: "no dude, that's a pedephile"
Church: "tucker, i think he means a pacifier"

At least it's a fresh take on what could be happening with the game. The only reason I doubt this would be however is that I feel the cast of Wars is going to be kept within it's own bubble. It is definately within the realm of possibility though, they would just have to be clever about the implemntation.

ROBOHOG IS VERY BRILLIANT AND STUFF.

If so, it had BETTER NOT BE ANOTHER RTS.
