Emotions can be very powerful, but at the same time can become very dangerous, in a sense, depending on how you look at it. I say this because the more powerful your emotiones are, generally the less control you have over yourself. Think about it. If you get mad enough at somebody, all of a sudden nothing else matters, all you see is their face and you just have to beat the living -blam!- out of them. When you are scared to the point where you couldn't BE anymore scared, a reflexive action occurs. Some people will run, others will scream and piss their pants, etc etc etc.
Now, having said that, emotions are also integral to our lives. They add flavour and personality to people and situations, and are capable of bringing out the best (and worst) in people.
I can't say as I recall a specific moment in my life which was emotionally more significant than any other number of moments. I don't really consider myself a non-emotional person, I just try to keep it on the inside. I find it a lot easier to get angry while I'm playing sports, though (I play football, hockey, wrestling and rugby), especially when the other team is playing dirty or someone on my team is playing like -blam!- when they can do better.
Oh, by the way, my sincere condolences to all of you who have lost your pets. I have not had the misfortune to lose anyone (including pets) significant in my life thus far (I'm 16), but I do have a dog, and have some semblance of the anguish such a tragic event would create.
