Some can come away from reading "War and Peace" thinking it a simple adventure story, while others can read the ingredients on a gum wrapper and unlock the secrets of the universe.
I have been mentining this many times but it never gets any attention. In Halo 1 the monitor in the Two betrayls leels says the following.
"Last time you asked me, would I do it? Having considerable time to ponder your query my answer has not changed. We must activate the rings."
What is that supposed to mean "last time". I used to assume it was becasue humans are forerunner and thats what he meant by "last time". But after halo 2 and the terminals, and the cradle of life comic, we know we are not actually forerunner. So what did sparky mean?I believe it is Bungie foreshadowing of a future halo game. In halo 2 sparky is called the "Oracle" by the covenant. More Bungie foreshadowing?
Others point out that Sparky was on the edge of rampancy (always muttering how he was a genius). But could there be something deeper. We've all seen the time travel threads that MC went back in time. Let me just take a moment to support this (im just saying it would be possible).
The Portal is basiclly a wormhole. Bending the fabric of space time in a tunnel to the arc, crossing multiple dementions to do this. It is most likely powered by the Forerunner crystal in books that tartarus manages to get picies of. When MC gets into the portal and it closes it happens like this. The "tunnel" is torn in half. It stretches apart leaving the Arc half and the portal half. Arby is in the portal half so manages to complete the journey MC is less fortunate. He stuck right in the middle. The ship is torn apart and a huge amount of energy is realesed. This means the fabric of space and time itself is tor apart for a milisecond or something.
MC could have easily go "through" this temporarily torn "fabric" and come out a different time.
Now Sparky saying that "Last time you asked me - ". I'm not saying anything your thinking it.
Do not respond with Time Travel is BS unless you have something other than criticysim to support that with.
