Should the Halo:Reach rocket launcher be able to lock onto vehicles like on Halo 2? I liked the Halo 2 rocket launcher and thought it was fair that rockets could lock on. You could evade a locked on rocket easy with the banshee (if you are skilled enough) but some newer players or less skilled players may like the rocket launcher to continue being crappy.

Maybe a longer 5 second lock on timer?

I hunt for the Prophet of Contentment, the San 'Shyumm that murdered my son, and stole his birthright, his Energy Sword. They call our species Heretics. They claim to all that our tongues sting, our words a vile poison that feeds on the unworthy. I have seen the true face of Heresy. The head of a gallant warrior lay on the ground. His neck scorched and blistered, scarred by his own blade. I shall retrieve the weapon, and drive it through that bastard's heart! Punishment for his sins is nigh.

No, it should not, the Rockets were too strong in Halo 2, plus we can keep the Missile Pod.

Time flies like an arrow; fruits flies like a banana.

Maybe, but only if the actual strength is reduced.

No lock-on, Spartan Laser or Missile Pod. Make the rockets faster. Grenades should be much stronger with longer fuses. And vehicles should be more susceptible to constant small arms fire from multiple people and grenades.

Nothing should lock on. Nothing is more annoying than getting in a vehicle, then three seconds later, WHA BAM BOOM SHOOM FOOM BOOM BAM BAM BAM BAM BOOM BOOM.

I think that you are right that the rocket launcher should not lock on cause you do have a good reason.

Why not an obscenely long 5 second lock on?

Haters are going to hate.
Praisers are going to praise.

The Bungie Forums are what keeps my mind sharp and my fingers active, between writing my own movie scripts, drawing, and studying industrial design. At the moment I'm working on miniatures for a short movie that I'll hopefully be able to film once I've saved up for a camera... That's me, with the mug, trying to have a conversation with Konoko.

Yes, but remove the missile pod.

Its still a free kill. Hiding in a corner for 5 seconds while locking on makes no difference. It takes no effort.

It gives the vehicle time to hide or shrug off the rocket.

Once its locked on its over. If I hide behind a rock in the center of the map I can lock-on to any vehicle no problem. Its a free kill.

the idea to remove the lock on rocket launcher and "replace" it with that -blam!- pod was horrible.
Or Damage from all Vehicles..WTF? The vehicles are too strong in Halo 3 -.-*
Why bungie changed all that things from Halo 2? They worked perfectly! horrible..
The tripmine was awsome in the Halo 3 BETA!

I guess you arent particularly fond of the splazer either then?

Atleast it beeps, if you're being locked on by a rocket. The Splazer has a warning ray, but you can just hide it by aiming at something thats close infront of you, then when charged (if the enemy still is there) you blast away.
Ive said it before, but I'll say it again, It the plasma pistol drains ammo only from charging, so should the splazer, then people wouldnt waste it as much by going...
VUUUiiii... *doesnt fire*
VUUUiiii... *doesnt fire*
VUUUiiii... *still doesnt fire*
VUUUIIIII!!! BLAM!!! (fires).

I dont want to remove the splazer, not at all, but being able to lock on with the rocket launcher does not seem to make it over powered, especially with that beeping sound. It workt quite well in Halo 2. But it should take a little bit longer then in said game, so that one couldnt lock on while being attacked.
