I don't have a link, but the Antec Truepower is bomb. So is the OCZ modstream and the Coolmax Fanless. May not be 500w, but it is high quality so it'll beat out any 500watt crap psu. Besides...fanless!

Anyway, just read reveiws and such. Anything by Antec, OCZ, Coolmax. Avoid MGE, Ultra [yes, the X-connect, not the greatest], Raidmax, etc.

You should spend about $60+ for a good psu.

Grrr...a bunch of errors saying that the post never got thru - I guess they did!

Well, I'll use this one for some good. You should be more concerned about the quality of the voltage rails on the psu than the actual wattage. A 400watt quality psu is better than a crap 600watt - even if the wattage supply is continuous. Just look for high ampage on ech rail, read reviews, compare.

Yes, and it should be much nicer due to the fact that it's modular. If you didn't know that [or do not know what it is], you're in for an awesome surprise. OCZ modstream - my choice right now for the best psu.

Is it easy to install a power supply? Or should I leave that to a tech...? I can install sound cards and video cards, but that -blam!-s cake.

psus are simple to install... all you do is (first turn everything off, this should go without saying) unplug all the things the psu is connected to, remove the screws on the back holding it on (be sure you hold the psu up or it might fall down on top of your cpu fan, video card, etc.) and then pull it out, and stick the new one in the same way the other one was. then you connect the wires from the new psu to where the old psu's wires went... that simple

Thanks Heero. The PSU was actually very easy to install. It took me about 15 minutes. There were a couple of cables that I didn't know what they go to. The SATA cable and the PCI-express cables. I have a pcie express board but I didn't see a plug in for them, or on my video card. Heres a picture of them, they are the bottom 2 on the cables picture (4th one down):

sata hard drives use a special power connection. you may not have one of those.

as for the pci express one... im stumped. maybe only certain video cards have them?

I would bet those are for the cards that need extra power.
