do you think they will have any forerunner stuff in the game, like that crystal or anything, or will they just keep it covenant and humans?

I hope we will see some new Forerunner facility which wasn't in the novels. And Flood. And Sentinels.

We MIGHT see sentinels, but if they keep it canon, there won't be Flood.
I do hope that we'll learn more about the Forerunners or Precursors though.

I don't see how having Flood would interrupt the canon...

I have a feeling that we will obviously see more Forerunner facilities considering underneath Reach's surface is a rich labyrinth of Forerunner architecture as seen in the novel Halo: The First Strike when Dr. Halsey and the remaining Spartans are trying to escape Castle Base.

Edit- The Flood would interrupt the canon because there were no Flood on Reach and also based on the reaction of the crew of the Pillar of Autumn it is safe to assume that Humans had no idea that the Flood existed. And before you say it, I have no idea why they don't know considering there were Flood in Halo Wars. Perhaps we will have to wait until its sequel if there is one.

The Spirit of Fire never got back so they couldn't report the Flood. You don't know if there was Flood on Reach. Dr. Halsey even says that the complex is HUGE. I would personally love playing the game as a majority Covenant for the game and finding what is in the ruins of CASTLE and what is under Reach's surface.

You're right, I don't know if there were Flood on Reach or not, but it is fairly safe to assume that they are not. First without sentient life the Flood all but starved to death and died. The only remaining examples of surviving Flood were left behind in complex, secure locations guarded by sentinels and were meant to exist only for study. If an outbreak occurred it is because some external force broke open the containment protocols thus causing the Flood to spread and consume said external force.

Now as for why I don't think Reach was such a facility is because it seems that the facilities on Reach were only meant to house the crystal and nothing else. If there is anything else inside of Reach it would undoubtedly be other artifacts or something of importance to the Forerunners. I highly doubt that they would leave behind Flood specimens near objects of such importance.

Of course I could be wrong about everything, this is all speculation based on observations.
